Hello from San Antonio

Post by gcurl »

Long time "guest", finally made an account.
Started RC around '85 and have been on and off since then. My son started showing interest in some of my old cars hanging up so I went through my team car from around '91 and let him learn. Picked up a 10t for myself just for playing around in the yard. Others in the collection are a rere grasshopper, rere lunchbox, 1/12 pan car (not sure the make), and a Bolink Invader.
Team car and 10T both have 4370kv bushless but I just can seem to give up on my NIHM batteries. TC has been upgraded with 2.2 wheels and modern tires. I'm still amazed at the run times and speed available from the brushless as well as the lack of glitching from the new cheap 2.4G radios.

And out of curiosity, does anyone recognize this style rear universal shaft? They came on the 10t when I got it but they're not familiar at all. I'm a big fan though since in my youth I spent many hours combing the grass for lost dog bones.

When not playing with the little cars, I've got a few bigger toys as well.

Someone put sliders on your 10T... not sure who made these bitd, but the diff outdrives certainly aren't stock either!

the diff outdrives are stock, they have added the universal adapters from raborn or csc or I think there was a third as well. using those adapter yokes, you can use traxxas or losi sliders and either the raborn or csc axles (1/4") or you could simply use a losi rear axle (3/16") with the right bearings in the hub carrier. the raborn and csc sliders were either unique, or later used losi or traxxas sliders.

Raborn most likely. The rear arms too. They should say Raborn on them somewhere.

yep of course that makes perfect sense. I paused looking at the arms totally forgetting they paired them with the universals. They should have a pretty apparent 'dip'' to the cross braces for clearance of the sliders.

That would be the wife. I think i must have done something right in a former life. Not much else to tell really. Married for 4 years, she's 6ft (and i'm not).

I think this is the first time on the many internet forums I attend that I ever see someone using a picture of his scantily clad wife as his avatar...

... come to think of it, we need more pictures like these
