As the title may suggest what are double or triple armatures and what to they do ?
I understand about turns , high turns of fine wire = high torque low revs ,low turns thick wire = high revs low torque but I've never known what mechanically a double...

I've just 'reborn' my old burned out 'Rush' motor using the armature out of a pretty basic can motor which had stuffed brush holders.
I was surprised that it all fitted together and even bloody works!

Yeah, generally speaking a large percentage of motors used in rc can mix and match armatures. The earliest and latest motor could be quite different however.

Most used a two brush , two magnet, three arm/commutator design.

Anyone have a idea which vintage motors came with a 13x3 armature? I am building a kinwald XXT and I am in need of a 13x3 armature and cannot wait any longer for integy to get theirs in stock. So figured to get a list together on what motors used...

I recently obtained a few brushed Trinity armatures from a parts lot. I am unsure about the winds on two of them. They have markings on them that says 8-HVQ and 9-HVQ. Looking closer at the wires to the comm, I noticed two different gauges of wire...

I have a bunch of Reedy Mr R’s which came in a bulk purchase along with several incomplete cars. Three of them are used, and one is NIP.
I then came across a Trinity armature in an old parts bin at a shop.
I have no experience with electric motors...

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a used 240 SB motor. Upon inspection I am suspicious the armature is not authentic. Can anyone confirm this based on the images below? The winds are messy and damaged and to my eye it looks more like a stock rotor....
