It's too bad. I had always loved Novak even through them mainstreaming brushless systems. Unfortunately, the last system I bought, the Pulse V2 & Vulcan motor, just was not up to par. I couldn't keep up with anything on the track and programming the esc was a royal PITA. After realizing I was the only person at the track that wasn't running Reedy or Hobbywing, I felt it was time to jump ship. I made the switch to Hobbywing after a few months and never looked back.

Well, crap... I have suddenly remembered that I never sent my Millennium Pro chargers to Novak to be updated to the latest software version.

same with Competition electronics, you could upgrade to support S3 but what about in the future when things change again you will have to get a newer charger anyway.
The Millennium Pro chargers are by no means obsolete. They are fantastic chargers for use with NiCd and NiMH batteries. The same is true for Competition Electronics chargers. If you want to argue that NiCd and NiMH batteries are obsolete, then that is fine. I also have LiPo batteries and newer chargers for my modern RC stuff. As an old school RC guy, however, I still very much enjoy sub-C battery packs and brushed motors in my vintage stuff. Using my old Novak chargers only adds to the experience. 8)

You should try the early 12v resistance charge leads to really get the experience.
I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !

Pfft... I remember the days of using two wires with alligator clips to connect RC battery packs directly to automotive batteries. As soon as the packs got really warm (but not too hot to hold!) it was time to race.

LOL! I have long suspected that we are kindred spirits. For example, your "had to remind myself of the pain.... NICD batteries." thread was an instant classic in my mind.

Batt tech is going change on the ten fold in the next few years, watch for it. Huge changes are on the horizon, it might take a few more years to see it, but just wait.
