So long story short, I had gotten a dyno off ebay, and the post office decided to sit on the package for almost a month. It had become almost funny trying to figure out all the places this thing went. Anyway it finally came and after about 10 seconds of running it went poof. I just busted a gut figuring it was cursed. The seller though felt really bad about it, even though it wasnt his fault, and sent me a goody box to make up for my having to rebuild the dyno. It came today and there were all sorts of neat things in it, a couple low turn brand new armatures, a couple of motor timing stands, a few Novak chargers, some old AE parts........and this 4 cell motor break in box. Made by Silva Racing "the racers edge". The cells in it are Sanyo 1200SCR. Anyone ever heard of this outfit? The fellow that sent it was from Reno. Im thinking late 80's early 90's?
Well I got my own answer to this.....which made it all the more interesting. I was writing back and forth with the fellow I got this stuff from, and he mentioned that he had gotten it from his friend, who was the brother of Dyane and Darryl Silva. The oval racing and speed record guys. They were working with Mike Reedy, and there is a good chance the 6 turn armatures I have now were made for speed runs. Now to me....thats cool!
I had a chance to dig out some boxes of goodies over at Barry Raborn's house last night. Barry was the owner of both Bullet and Raborn Racing products. I took a few pictures but they aren't the greatest since they are from a cell phone. Anyways,...

That truck is sitting at Barry's house now. It wouldn't do all that well on a touring track. The motor is offset left and up high. It is really intended to be only a dirt car. I have drastically updated it to bring it up to modern levels. Barry even...
dont know if you guys have seen this but looks great for keeping in pratice over the winter .. if we could get enough members on there we could even race with our own controlers :D

Thank you. That is helpful. Its all a waste if money! Lol. But it makes me happy. Just wish I was better or was making improvements. It seems that im a few laps behind every race. I have fun
Well i didnt think I'd actually care to do this but im real curious about the topic and dont really know where to look for the proper information.
Can you guys direct me to a good site that can give me the breakdown for racing rc's. What classes...

On the local club scene I can hold my own. When I get around Jharris and his crew, I look like a fool. I never get as much practice as I would like when I have traveled so lap times on new tracks are not great. Locally I am toward the top of the...
So now that I've got the RC10 running, I want to race it or at least take it on a track.
Any chance for arranging some racing somewhere in North Texas? Or at least a track? It seems like the one that was in my area is closed.

Ahh, oops.
I was thinking of Mike's Hobby Superstore. :D
Wild Bill's is still in biz. I'll check that out. The Indy RC one looks epic! You can bet I'm gonna be there someday soon!
Must be that time to run something new, Ruffy's thread inspired me.
I too am heading racing with my T4.1 for the first time in a long long time this weekend. It is pretty much out of the box RTR but will have a selection of tires. Last time I...

Anyone have good tips for re-using JC Racing Wheels? I assume it just involves acetone, razor blades, and hard work. Any other good tricks?

Tires sucessfully removed and remounted. Thanks for the tips! I went the acetone soak route. Didn't know I could buy 1 qt of acetone for $8 at my local home improvement box mart. No problems with the JC Racing nylon wheels.
Hey everyone! Just got my first RC10 off ebay. After reading some posts on here, I purchased a set of black JC Racing 5 spoke wheels. My question is, can anyone offer a suggestion as to what tires will fit the wheels? I want to keep it looking like...

I ended up going with black JC Racing tires and Schumacher Mini Spike 2 2.2 1/10 Buggy Front Tires. I think they'll go good with either a black/yellow body or blue/orange body.
Interested in peoples thoughts on the buggy vs truck tranny for racing stock.
Vintage class in Australia is either old school brushed 27T stock motors or 21.5T brushless. Our tracks are outdoor dirt and a mix of grip levels, but not indoor clay...

Figure out what final ratio you want then figure out what spur and pinion you would need and see which one is easier to run. If you need to buy anything(spur/pinion) for either setup, it's probably a wash.
