Sanyo yellow heatshrink

Post by Russ Giles »

Hello
I am rebuilding a RC12E to a runner with nimh cells, I would like to re shrink the cells in the period correct Sanyo plain yellow heatshrink.
All I can find from the normal electronics suppliers is the thick rubbery type shrink rather than the thin type used on the old cells.
Do any of you know where I might get some from?
Thanks
Russ

Normally you can find it in clear or a bluish tinge, but colored stuff isn't easy, probably gotta source out of China.

My first packs were shink wrapped in fluorescent pink.
I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !

Not sure if this post would still be useful for anyone but pleas check these. I've developed SCR1200, SC1200 and SCE1700 decals for those who may want to keep theirvintage buggies powered with NiCd style cells.

Of course these will allow to cosmetically restore those matching cells but also rewrap modern ones for a vintage look. Ask for environmental regulations of rewrapping NiMH to NiCd before ordering.

Pics shown prototype decals with off set white backing. Current ones have this issue fixed for a great new look. SCRC1700 are on the way too.

Feel free to PM for pricing and availability.

Like RC10TH said you have to get it from China.

Search on ebay for PVC heatshrink. :D

Coloured PVC tubing is not an issue at this date, because I got some big rolls from China (of course,    ) some time ago when developing these decals.

The goal is to sell these kits now.

Thanks.

China uses it for wrapping broomsticks ;) suffer less splinters when you're sweeping, also they use their prettified broomsticks to hang their laundry out to dry.
