NEW Alloy Sand Scorcher-SRB Alloy Wheel & Nut Sets!

Post by toyranosaur »

A little something new for the venerable SB cars! I am doing an all-Alloy upgrade build on my Scorcher, using my pieces that have been done (But are no longer available) and on this one I took a hard look at wheels. I dawned on me that all previous wheels were, well, 'Heavy'-looking- Not bad! But I wanted something different, sleeker, more scale, sexier. Thusly, my newest offering!

They are solid 6061-T6, and take considerable machine time running small tools to get the more delicate spokes, which are all beveled also: I pushed the envelope to get more space between the centers and the rims, and I think it paid off. Sets of these include 4 wheels AND 4 nuts, and as hard as it is to make a unique SRB any more, these hit the nail on the head- Not much out there for new SRB parts!

I will be phasing out R/C products over the next year and pursuing other endeavours: Therefore, ALL items from here on out will NOT EVER be re-issued: This affects rarity, availability and value like never before, so now is the time if you want something! Get an extra set & make bank in the near future......

NOTES

The use stock rubber, and the nuts have a pressed-in Nylok insert; Not simply threaded, you can run these. The wheels are 'Mill-Fresh' as usual, and you will need to knock off some sharp edges & trim some .002 flash here & there, NOT hard! Just FYI. The finish is as pictured, but easy to polish if you wish.

Chris these look great. Will they be made to accept the pin on axle of the rere or five point hub of the original? I'd prefer the pin on axle so the center can stay small

Look great, and assuming they use the new pin drive I bet they fit other Tamiya cars as well (hornet, frog, etc)

I think I like em! I would love to have a set. If they are anything like the RC10 wheels, they will be great.

Look fantastic from the pics so far, Nice work Chris. I am in for the draw for sure!

If they end up fitting anything 12mm, I am down for many sets!!

Another great product as always, Chris. Just ordered a set with the much needed discount. Debating whether to order another one for a future build, that is unless I magically hit the jackpot here.

Forgot to add that the "light weight" look is a huge must for the SS. I had bought some SS wheels on eBay from some seller in China and it had that "heavy" stationary-bike-plated-flywheel look to it so I used it on a newly built Tamiya Frog. The stars definitely aligned when you mentioned you wanted to make a "light weight" looking wheel for the SS. Bravo.
