I did that on one of my Viper CE bodies

I could use a new Pro-line body, can't remember the name
but it's shaped really close to the body and I used Velcro in stead of body posts

I see these are discontinued already by most places and eBay has them for $350+ now. Did they sell out that quickly??
Will they be re released again with another run???
They just came out for Pete's sake,I was looking forward to getting one near Christmas time or in the spring when taxes come in.

This is most disappointing that eBay scalpers already got their little mitts on them already.
Sorry for the rant.

From what I've read there won't be more runs of the 'classic' kit, however the door may be open for later versions of the car (eg CE, team car etc) which would be great to see.

Associated did state it was a limited edition run, although understandably many people (including me) were sceptical about this statement at the time.

Unfortunately in this particular case it would seem that snooze = lose.

As much as it hurts, it might pay to snap one up at $350 or so if you can, as they may get alot higher still.

Good luck,

Steve

That is what I was afraid of....

I guess I really snoozed and lost as I had no clue it was even coming out, I have been out of this for some time.

I just discovered this car being out only 2 weeks ago by accident by randomly picking up a R/C Car Action magazine at B&N to see what was new in the hobby and I saw the two page ad layout and I just about fell over when I saw it......

I had a new one in '88 that I raced on and off and I had a RC10T new in '94 when they first came out.

I got an old buggie that I pieced together a few years ago and I dyed the parts black because they looked like crap in white and I always wanted a stock box art looking buggie with white parts.

Well, I just started piecing together the new classic white parts, new body, and decals from Tower and A main hobbies to change mine all over to white parts. I got most everything I need.

She'll be a shelf queen.

You can still get them at ModelsportUK for £209 GBP = $338,95 USD
They show good stock
Regarding the UK vs US prize
We pay import tax on everything that comes from Non EU countries
So for us that's still a very reasonable prize

Does anyone know what is different about the classic that allows modern batteries to be mounted?

1) Is the battery cup mounting position different or does the chassis have a different hole positions?
2) Why is the bulkhead bottom cut out - strictly for taller batteries?

I would like to mod an original runner and want to make sure I order the right parts.

Thanks Limestang

1) the battery cup is moved forward against the servo, the cup itself is the same, the mounting holes for it are moved on the chassis.
2) i think that is exactly it.

HI!... The rear bulkhead is missing the bottom where the battery slides in. Also the plastic there is a lot thinner to allow for the LiPo packs.
102 RC vehicles and counting...
