my first worlds build
my first worlds build
hi guys . well this is my first post to this fantastic forum .back into the hobby after more than 20years away .
my dad brought home a tamiya rough rider 1981/82 and i was hooked . followed that with holiday buggy . then frog and brat . flat nose kyosho . has i got to my late teens i kinda moved away from the rc hobby grown up life starts getting busy .
it was the tamiya rere,s that got me back sand scorcher just had to have one re live my childhood .
any ways not to bore you all with my life story . was looking for a new kit to build really wanted a rc10 classic but the ones i could find my budget wouldn't stretch / of should i say the wife would of killed me for spending that much .
last week ebay sent me a 10% voucher code to use and model sport had a sale on the rc10 worlds kit . so i did the deed and got myself one . so happy i did loved putting it together much more enjoyable than i thought it would be as its a simple kit .
few little problems . boy are the turn buckles tight . and one dog bone drive cup was drilled off enter . made call to modelsport and they sorted me out with some new ones next day post very happy .
just need to paint the body now . i will update this when its done even if i make a total balls up its been awhile doing polycarbonate ,
any advice or hints or comments all greatly accepted from you guys
regards . simon

yep i sure did have them on the wrong sides .. left on the right and the right on the left .. in my defense it was about 3am when i started on the build . was going to take it out for a run in my carpark but the rain has stopped play . so best get on with cooking Sunday roast ..

Re: my first worlds build
well getting close to giving the worlds its first run out thought i best do something to help protect the underbelly i would just feel so bad scratching it all up .
so all i had was some 1/2mm platicard and a hour later with the help of some servo tape i had myself something that might just work for the short term .. jazzed it up a bit with some pinstripe i had tucked away ..
