So, if I enter one next month will I win just because? Or are there too many newbs to know the story/history behind my build record? Scr8p, what say ye?

I was thinking just the opposite - that the losers (or maybe the top three?) should be automatically re-entered for the following month.NickTheGreek wrote:...maybe the losers of this one can be disallowed from entering for a few months...
There are so many cool builds, I hate to see them disappear into obscurity just because they didn't win a particular month - I would love to see several of last month's (and this month's) builds as future "Build of the Month" winners...

That won't work because then it would be difficult for any NEW entries to be entered; all the spots would be repeatedly taken up by the "losers" (in quotes because all the cars are nice, there are no losers, really). I think an entry that doesn't win shouldn't be allowed to re-enter for a certain period of time. I'm sure the people viewing the polls don't want to see the same cars entered over and over again.dldiaz wrote:I was thinking just the opposite - that the losers (or maybe the top three?) should be automatically re-entered for the following month.NickTheGreek wrote:...maybe the losers of this one can be disallowed from entering for a few months...

How about just the first runner-up to be re-entered?Coelacanth wrote:That won't work because then it would be difficult for any NEW entries to be entered...dldiaz wrote:I was thinking just the opposite - that the losers (or maybe the top three?) should be automatically re-entered for the following month.NickTheGreek wrote:...maybe the losers of this one can be disallowed from entering for a few months...
I for one, view this poll every month and would certainly like to see some entries return.

NO AUTOMATIC WIN FOR YOU!!!!
About re-enteries:
If you read the rules, it says if your entry does not win you can re-enter it the following month. By that it means YOU can re-enter it.

Okay, let me change my tune a bit then:scr8p wrote:About re-enteries:

To all who enter this contest and do not win:
- Please don't be discouraged and re-enter your builds!
- because they're all very cool and worthy of a future win!"

Rules or not, I don't like the idea of seeing the same losing cars entering & re-entering in subsequent months, because then it's not a contest of "which is best", but potentially becomes a contest of "which are entered first".

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - September 2014 ** - Winner - scr8p
Well, we can't be having a poll to pick the top 10 each month. Submissions are open for a week. First 10 in are it. Pick the best of the lot. At the end of the year, the best of the winners will be chosen.
Now we could make those that don't win wait a month to re-enter. I would be fine with that. But either way, you will end up seeing the same cars at some point in time.

to be honest, anyone that wants to enter can via the rules. If they wanna enter bad enuf they will be watching the date and entering as soon as they can once the new month starts. Its not really a bad thing...they could all be like me and kinda not like putting their crap all out there for everyone to see...be kinda a boring place around here without pix

The "rules" part is generating more talk than the "build" part

Hi Guys,
I just like the chance to see some great pics of some great cars all together in one place, I am always
using pics for research to try to improve my own builds and to come up with new ideas for future
builds.
Keep up the great work guys!
Cheers, Dave.
