my guess would be that as the plastic cools, it contracts, so the open 'C' of the clips all arranged in order moves around quite a bit as it's being layed down, leading to shifting of the parts, making them skew. might need sprue to close the 'c's keeping everything from changing dimensions. It could also be that the stresses generated are cracking the existing sprue.

Hope that was clear?

I did not get informed what exactly is the problem. Those who ordered this set, can you identify that for me?
Maybe sprue is too weak and parts will get loose and lost? I'm going to pile these parts in a different way and update shapeways item soon...

Current version looks like this:

Hiya Niki

in my collar set the inner c part had to be cut clean off and the print made mine almost one piece.

Hi Niki,

Tried to order these, but got my money refunded.
Shapeways says they can't do them.

Yes I got informed also. They think sprue design is too weak, parts are ok.
I have updated the sprue design a couple of days ago and Shapeways should use these new models to fulfill your order. I have informed Shapeways about this. Let's see what they do. You ordered model version 4 on 2014-11-18 and update to model version 5 was 2014-11-22. That's why Shapeways can not print the new version without asking us first.
I'm sure everything will be ok and you'll get your parts in production soon. We all are learning in this process...

Thanx for super fast support Niki.
I've sent a mail to Shapeways about this and hopefully they will ship all at once.

Thank you again Niki for giving us this opportunity to build this iconic car.

:)
I should probably go through all part sets with sprue design involved and make them even stronger. It would minimize the risk of loosing parts in Shapeways polishing and handling process. I quess we would see less delays in production.

......Shapeways seems to have now new design guidelines for parts and sprues. It means a lot of work for me.
I think I'm not going to offer small parts polished and/or dyed in colors anymore. Big parts like arms are easy to get through polishing process.

I will make a list here which items are OK:

-NIX63651 (new stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24)
-NIX91-Steering Blocks SLS (new sprue, updated 2014-11-24, only white and black available, not polished)
-NIX91-Steering SLS (new sprue, updated 2014-11-24, only white and black available, not polished)
-Stealth Shock Prep Set SLS (no sprue, all parts are in a loop, updated 2014-11-24)
-NIX91-Front Arms SLS (new stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24)
-NIX91-Rear Arms SLS (new stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24)
-NIX91-Race Front Arms SLS (new stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24)
-NIX91-Race Rear Arms SLS (new stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24)
-NIX91-Race Steering SLS (new stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24, only white and black available, not polished)
-NIX91-001 (stronger sprue, updated 2014-11-24)
-...
-...

Suddenly Shapeways has problems with every single item so you have to wait for a day or two until I get all parts updated.
I will update "items ready" list in my previous post. Until item is on the list do not order it. Thanks and sorry.

Sorry to hear they are having trouble. Man, they are a long wait too! I've only had one order ship on the expected date

I will say tho, all the kits I've ordered were the first batch, and minus the problems with Mini's set (too many one side not enough other) the parts were great, polished nicely and needed very little cleanup. It seems that since repackaging to make them less expensive it has hurt their ability to print them. Might be easier to only offer individual pieces to be honest. Your doing a great job on your end of trying to make it more affordable but all that work of spruing is wasted with their problems printing it. Might be easier to make us pay just a bit more for the parts individually

I just checked and I was refunded for my front and rear standard arms. Are these no longer printable or have you made the changes to make them work? Sorry I'm not the best follower at what's going on in here right now.
