Longer B4 front axles? Not enough threads.

Post by yellowdatsun »

My RC10 has been running B4 front axles for some time now, but the nylock nuts just can't grab well due to the shortness of the threads. Does anyone make longer front axles for the B4? Or shorter locking nuts?

are you using the full nylon nut or the metal nut with nylock insert? You can use a full nylon nut and it should hold quite well as you cut the threads as you install it. they aren't designed to be used more than a couple times though, so use new ones when you can. mcmaster sells them by the 100 for dirt cheap.

otherwise, you can use a thin locknut, I couldn't give you a part number though, couldn't find anything readily, but hopefully someone knows that can answer.

Never had a problem with the front ever backing off, seems weird..I just use the rpm mini nuts or the ae nuts that are very similar,,,
