I designed and printed the rear brace mount and made some tubes to go with it. I'm pretty happy with how it looks and it should prevent the rear of the chassis from getting mangled.

Looking good, nice idea on the rear brace

Do you have an idea when the kit will be available to purchase??

Definitely looking nice.

I'd be interested if you put together a kit too.

Here's another new option for the 10M. Before I was running B5M wing mounts which work great, but they force you to cut a pretty big hole in the body right where the body mount post goes. I was holding down the back of the body with the front edge of the wing, which works well, but not the cleanest solution. Also, in the spirit of the bolt-on nature of this project, it would be great if even the body didn't have to be modified.
So I designed this. It screws to the tower and has provisions for wing tubes and a body mount post, both in the stock location. So with this, even a body that was previously trimmed and drilled for a "regular" RC10 would go right on a 10M, no cutting needed. :-)

Unfortunately for me the body for this car is already hacked for the B5M wing mounts, so back to them for me.

Amazing build! Definitely breathes new life into this car. I am really interested in doing a conversion like this, but I have one question. I run on an outdoor dirt track that is downright filthy. My concern is the exposed gearing. Any plans or way to cover those?

Again Sweet build!

Thanks!

Good question on the dirt... how dirty does your car get inside the pan? The gears are completely inside the pan and body, so I don't think it would be too bad without a cover on the gears. I can look into designing one though...

Thank you!!! 8)

I'm waiting on a quote on machining the motor plates and towers, those are the last two things to work out.

For those of you interested in building one of these, please vote in this thread --> http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=41991
to let me know what options you are interested in and help me gauge how many parts to have made. Thanks!

Just a short video showing the rear brace and body and wing tube mounting options.
Having towers and motor plates made right now. I'll order all the Shapeways and AE parts for the kits soon too. Stay tuned 8)

Had the car in hand & on the track last night. Great amounts of rotation, with a slight tuning change we also were able to get the lap times better and make me feel more comfortable wheeling the car. Solid conversion and looks awesome on the track.
