Small update!

Found Lunsford titanium hinge pins on eBay, bought them, and the carbon fiber parts are set to show up Thursday or Friday..

Found out that the B4.1 uses the same rear bearing carrier spacing at the RC10. So I set out to fit a pair of B4 Team aluminum rear carriers on my RC10 - simply drilled the hinge pin hole with an 1/8" bit, then file fit the hinge pin..

Found out the hard way RC10 CVD's won't work at all, B4's are to long, but after some digging.. I found out B44 rear center CVD bones will work.. AE PN 9760 is rumored to be 61mm pin to pin, and stock B4's are 65mm pin to pin SO the 4mm shorter should work..

Also found out the stock camber turnbuckle will work as well in the outer holes on the World's bulkhead BUT to use the inner holes, you need another pair of front camber turnbuckles, which is the route I plan to go..

Thanks! I was just messing around last night honestly.. I found some plastic B4 rear hub carriers and sized them up to the RC10 arm, simply swapped the aluminum one's off one of my B4's.. will have to post mine in there once it's a roller

Well! HUGEish update! Got the Lunsford titanium hinge pins, and the RC Carbon Works carbon fiber parts! (Battery strap, trans brace, short rear shock tower, and wide front tower)

Also made my first Amain hobbies order -
Protek titanium screw kit
Protek 4-40x3/4" screws
Protek 3/32" ceramic dif balls
Lunsford titanium turnbuckles
(2) Lunsford 3x43mm turnbuckles (new rear camber)
Blue RPM rod ends
(2) 9760 AE CVD's
Avid B4 top shaft
B5M wing mounts (stock)
AE anodized blue 4-40 lock nuts
AE anodized blue 8-32 lock nuts
2539 Traxxas aluminum spacer set (2)

Also bit the bullet and bought Dhawk blue front arm mounts, and his steering rack..

I already mocked up the carbon fiber and it's PERFECT.. the big bore B4 shocks bolted right on, only had to swap the lower shock mounts to the RC10 worlds style, instead of the B4 style.

I decided since the bearings are brand new still, I'll just use them, this order will allow me to get it to a nice roller and/or running if I decide to use the Novak club/17.5 I have from my B4 worlds pics up this weekend!

Good looking build ZAC_F71! I like the big bores and spring setup a lot. Nice job on the batt tray also. It looks like you're heading in the right direction to be competitive.

I have this thread saved for future reference. Thanks for sharing!

No problem man! I weighed it today - full race weight was 1,496 grams - 3 grams shy of ROARS minimum weight rule (1,499) and mine is going to get a little lighter. I don't think it will be anything bad to over come though - I have an aluminum steering rack and front arm mounts coming that will add a little plus I have AE 1/4oz lead weight I can add to get it just barely above weight ahaha

Only picture I have sadly, from weighing it. haha it will get a few parts to add a little and a bunch more titanium so it's going to be interesting where it ends up. Possibly found cvd's as well - AE 9911 B44 rear's are 61mm or so. So I will probably try to pick those up here this week to try..

Still waiting on the Dhawk aluminum front arm mounts, and steering rack..

Three grams shy...lead weight maybe up front? I think you lost those three grams from cutting out the battery tray. It serves it's purpose well though.

Good job on a well thought out build! I like the custom auto-tape chassis skin. I'm thinking about trying that myself. Did you place it on the chassis first, and then cut it to fit?

I outlined the chassis on the back side and rough cut it, then trimmed to fit the chassis before laying it down, and then cut out the screw holes and such in the chassis with a fresh blade..

$20 gets a 1ft x5ft roll on eBay - I've done this RC10, a B4, and still have over half the roll left

Here is what's changing from that weight in -

RPM rod ends
Titanium turnbuckles
Titanium hinge pins
Titanium ball studs
Titanium 8-32 screws (12)
Dhawk aluminum steering - still waiting for - has 2 stainless 8-32 screws I'll end up using
Dhawk aluminum front arm mounts - still waiting for
Avid B4 aluminum top shaft that has to be machined a little to fit the RC10 trans (lighter yet)
Hobbywing or Tunigy ESC (lighter)
Trinity 24k motor (lighter)
No B5 wing mounts (just stock plastic but still weight something)
Will have a different thicker body as well as different wing

It's going to be VERY interesting seeing where it ends up, going to start sell off things on eBay this week to get the build done..

Well got a increase on the ole CC so I splurged and picked up a new ESC/Motor -

Turnigy TrackStar 80A ESC
Turnigy programming card
Turnigy TrackStar 17.5 Outlaw motor

All for get this... $100 shipped in the USA - same price as the Trinity motor I was planning to get.. hopefully this setup is competitive!

The rest of the parts will be ordered this week!

That's a really good esc/motor combo! Trackstar gear is top-notch stuff. They are grossly underestimated, imho. I had a Trackstar 150A esc and 6-pole 2650kV motor in an 8th scale buggy, and I was more impressed with that system than any other I've owned. I've had Tekin, Castle, and Novak, but the Trackstar combo ran sooo cool, and it had the most grunt of any other BL system I've tried out to date. Good purchase!
