I'm asking because I see that ae offers a black classic chassis, but no classic nose plate in black. Only the short World's version. Also, the .71 front Team shocks are basically non-existent. I haven't managed to find a set anywhere. Yet. :| I'd love to find a set of those.
Every RC10 up until the Worlds car in '93-'94 had a full, squared off nose plate. It gave you an option of a long or short wheel base. The nose plate on the original Worlds car was cut in a V-shape. Mainly because no one used it in long wheelbase position and cutting it down reduced weight........ and most of the pro drivers had already been doing it for years. Shortly after the Worlds car came out, all RC10's had the cut down nose plate.

When the Classic rere kit came out there were pictures that clearly showed you would be able to get a complete black chassis set. But it never happened. I don't know if it was because the Worlds was coming out shortly or what the deal was. All I know is if you ordered a black nose plate you got the cut down one from the Worlds car. Now technically, there were some team cars that came with the cut down nose plate, but I want to make things harder on myself and use a full one like the earlier team cars had.

Thanks for that bit of nostalgic history scr8p. I owned a gold pan long ago, but never really knew all the history. Ya, it seems they didn't give us much to work with. But if there's a will, there's a way. It seems that building the vintage models is a lot harder than just buying a production kit and piecing it together. I do like the challenge though. Keeps my mind busy. I've spent over two hours sourcing shock parts today alone, lol.

I love when parts show up. :)

I put the trans together and thankfully the top shaft was good. It was nice and tight though, so while I moved on to other things, it spent some time at the rere stealth break-in center. Disregard the motor plate.

I got done pretty much all I can until the chassis parts come back from ano.

I can't wait to see how this car looks when it's finished as I am working on something similar. Which front arms did you end up using. :D

scr8p wrote:I was trying to figure out what tires I wanted to use on it. The original Team Car came with AE tires, so I thought it would be cool to do the same with this. But it looks like the only buggy tires I could get from AE would've been the ones from the B4.2rs rtr. They come pre-mounted though, and are also sold out. So I decided to just go with JConcepts Double Dee rears and Groovy fronts. I was trying to NOT use the same tires as the rere Worlds box art and did it anyway.
I already got tires for this, but I found the b4.2rs tires unmounted. Thunder Tiger BX tires. Now the question is, do i want to go that route?
