update: I made a front shock tower today and fitted the body: bummer, no good.

The tower is too high: its pushing the body up. And the shocks pull the front arms up too.
I can't simply mount the shocktower lower on the bulkhead: because then the shocks interfere with the bulkhead.
So it's time to try something different, or make a new wider shocktower.
Luckily I picked up 3 touringcar chassis from the garbage can during the last race: plenty carbon for another try

I had a lot of trial and a lot of error this week, so I got a bit lazy on the build pics. sorry.

Here's where it stands now:

Really nice work. How does it run?

The body kind of looks like a JR-X2 but I don't think that's what it is.

I think that's the really long, low-looking Losi body for the XX isn't it? Might even have been made by Dahm's...?

I'm really digging the 4wd conversion, it looks really cool!!!

bzzzzzt , not even close guys, nothing to do with losi or dahm's
Maybe you'll know when it is painted.
The original plan was to use the parma beetle body (as about 80% of the parts came from that buggy to start with) and use this one on the scorpion chassis

Rich, the least pleasant part of a custom build to me is the servo and steering set-up.
I kinda skipped forward as I got excited over the body, but I'll need to finish under-the-hood before I can tell how it drives.

hey Eric,

Will you be running the battery pack front to back or side to side. If running from side to side, is that body wide enough for a 6 cell stick pack?

regards,
highwayracer

bzzzzt again, not traxxas

Tip:
The buggy originally wearing this body has cut-outs to pass the battery through, kinda like the old fox.

I'm gonna try to go lengthwise and keep the sidelines intact.

that looks like it would fit my trx1 if its not to narrow right behind the front wheels.

If I were to take one guess, it would be based on the lines of the hood and the windows. Od my guess is that it's an MRC body. Similar to the one used for their world scale, but possibily a 1/10 scale version.
