If you can’t find something that helps, I do have one.
Yours came out great. Well worth the effort 8)

I have to admit that I was absolutely wrong about the ESC switch, and there is no design flaw. :( After looking at a rig on ebay and seeing the switch mounted upside down, and then confirming this is the way the manual says to mount it, I am an idiot. Now I have to go through the trash, that I just took to the road, and see if I can find the case.

There is a slight clearance issue with the body and the ESC mounted in the stock servo mount. Oh well, it will just get laid down.

Did you try upside down :D seems a waste to not use those holes

Edit- nevermind. I forgot what an absolute tank those were.

Yep, fat guy in a little coat! :D

I moved this thing every direction I could, and this is the only way it will fit. I like that it is symmetrical, but hate that it looks like it was just slapped on there, and there is this huge hole in the plate not being used. And XL-1s with complete ears are getting harder to find, and these are being wasted. I got a feeling this is going to get pulled and put on another rig in the future, and this one will be replaced by a cheap one with the ears cut off. :)

There's an XL-2 on Ebay right now.

Yeah it's been there for awhile. Price seems fair given it's "rarity". Seller "says" it works too (iirc).

This is a shelfer so it won't matter, and I did think about that when installing, but those sinks are so large, and that body so open, I don't think it would be a functional issue if it were run. :D

Now, the fact that the body is going to literally sit on top of the sinks would be a functional problem!

So I finally ran across the MSC pieces at a price I was willing to pay, and what should be a simple install has me a little stumped. :? The resistor pack consists of three resistors, and I have six spades, but no idea where to plug them in. :) It is always the simple things isn't it??? The manual I am using (I think the only one readily available) is pixelated and black and white, so it is difficult to determine locations as they took the pics from horrible angles. I have a yellow, a white, and two blues with jumpers. I can tell by the manual pic where the goes, or at least it looks to be on the right closest to camera, and then one of the blues is behind it, jumping to the furthest spade. On the left side, the yellow isn't in the front, but I don't know which one it is on behind the closest. I also can't tell which blue is blue as the wires aren't soldered at the same angles on mine, so you can't go by which side they come off the plate.

I am gong to pull out a Fluke and start going that route soon, but just in case someone knows or has access to one they could check.

Well I think I got it wired correctly. If/when I put power on it, we'll see. :D IMO, looks so much better without the brick there! The body and roll cage are probably going to end up being future projects, so it will probably be sitting like this for a while, which I am perfectly fine with.

As with tradition, I pretty much have to print at least one part for every car I build, and I almost didn't on this one, but I didn't have a MSC plate mount, so had to make one of those.
