Who made the NIX chassis? I have 2 Composite Craft Pro RC10T chassis. I know the materials are different, but the design and style seem quite similar. Is there a connection between them? Does anyone still produce a NIX chassis?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for any help.

The chassis in the photos is not a NIX91 it's my own interpretation and if you compared it to the NIX chassis photos you would see a number of differences. Fred and I started work on our replica in summer of 2014 and have finally brought the project essentially to fruition. The last remaining bit is completion of the bellcranks.

I'm currently having some additional chassis kits produced and should have them in hand by mid-December.

I think the composite craft chassis were done after the worlds to somewhat resemble the 91 stealth car.

Small update! Assembled my wheels and tires.

So i was thinking about dying the arms black to kind of give this the worlds car look! What do you guys think?

Go for it. The one I'm building has a denim blue dye job.....

Okay, since you've asked... The nylon parts are a big part of what makes this car unique so if you dye them black, I think they will become much less apparent. You're building a replica of a historically significant limited production car, right, so why on earth would you want to emulate a worlds car??
On the other hand, we're talking about 3d printed parts so if you change your mind you can always order-up another set (or two).

I get what your saying, everyone’s take will be different. I like the idea of the black arms, as from a production standpoint they would likely have been black soon enough had they gone to production.

When I built my stealth, I built it as a “what if” Team car. If the car had been a success and made it to kit form, this was my vision of what it would have been.

I also had a CE style kit planned with bushings, stock motor, dogbones, gold shocks, and three piece wheels. I was going to make a aluminum chassis for it, flat style with kick up and bent edges like a blue GT. I just never got around to it.

How did you get the "denim blue" color? Recipe? I'd like to do a set of wheels.

If you are building the car as if you were racing yourself, I would leave them white.

I bought em that way........i think the guy said denim blue is actually a rit color, so i guess that's what he used. I couldn't pass up the price no matter the color, and I'm not building a replica.....

There were printed rumors in RCCA in late '91 / early '92 that AE would release a production version of the 1991 Stealth 'within the coming year'. That would have put initial production in 1992 or early '93, when AE was still using white nylon in their Team and CE kits. The black nylon was introduced with the World's car and CE in 1994. If the car had made it to production, we could assume that AE would have eventually moved to black molds (if we're also assuming the Stealth production run would have run that long before AE replaced it).

So, just depends on what you're going for. Hey, man... it's your very own Stealth car. Go crazy!

I built mine as a 'what if' production car, similar to Jeff's. I've since updated the front springs to AE 10T blacks, and still have to paint a body for it. But you get the idea (stock-like turn buckles, one-piece rears, three-piece fronts... ala' World's car, etc). https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=37874

Every '91 interpretation I've seen so far has been awesome. They're Stealth cars!

edit: Oh, I'll also add that my Shapeways printed parts were left white and have yellowed slightly in the past couple years on their own. Their color tone is now closer to the other AE white parts on the car.

I'd always assumed that it was an aesthetics thing. Where the strength properties actually different between molded black and natural nylon?

When I was younger before the worlds cars came out i would dye the white arms black on my team cars. I will dye a set black and leave a set white and post pics of both.
