I've also copied (and have been selling here as well as eBay) CNC cut short and long Butterfly replicas. I just don't want you to think it was off your template 8)

Great thread! Just discovered it. Don't have a Tamiya srb car but the closest I have are the ayk super trail buggies.

Wish I could find a car like this (very similar to my old racer back in the day). Only thing, should be a metal CRP skid plate...

Hello All,

I have 2 different types of heavy duty axles. Diameter and thickness of the hub is pretty different.

EDIT: I think the gold are same as CRP #1541 and red is Thorp or MIP but wondering if anyone here can confirm?

Cheers

Are the red axles threaded metric or standard? That might help narrow it down. MIP axles would probably be 10-32.

Years ago, I read about this diff on Tamiyaclub (Blasphemy! :D ).

It's mentioned in the second post on page one by the member Tanker (2).
https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9140-srb-balldiff/

I wondered about it for years and came to the conclusion that I'd probably never see one, or find out who made it.

As luck would have it, one finally turned up. It's made in Japan by a company that used to be called GO PRO RC, but is now known as Goyo RC.
The diff has no through bolt or thrust bearings. It is indeed pressurised by the alloy SRB gearcase halves using the washers (gold coloured) that sit between the bearings and the diff. Apparently, there weren't many of these made.
