Diff bolt hex for this car should be on the right side. As a rule of thumb, when a ball diff rotates forward it puts tension on the bolt and spring, the bolt should never be able to loosen. Remember the saying "lefty loosey righty tighty". Although, if you have reverse and use it aggressively, you can still loosen the diff! :shock: Not likely though! :wink:

Got out for a race around the track during last weekend's race day, but unfortunately couldn't stay long. It handled quite well, with the exception of some tuning to the slipper and steering I have to work on.

My big bore spring adapters arrived in the mail yesterday too. If someone knows off hand where the shock setup is, can you please post a link, otherwise I'll find it once I look for it.

Can't wait for this weekend so I can fine tune things better and get her dialed in.

Younger brother is going to be ready to run in the spring. The 10M will transition to carpet and now has BB shocks, not just the adaptors. The 5M will be hittin the dirt instead.

I'm going to try my hand in short course for the first time next year too, probably get a mid motor one if I do well in it. Thanks Rod for it, I will probably get BB shocks for it and then dial it in.

Well, it was a blast competing with the B5Ms and B6Ds with the buggy nose and standard arms. I made consistent top B-Mains and the odd A-Main with it. Now that I have some arms and arm mounts from Niki, it's time to take this car to it's next level.

It needs a shock rebuild too, so this is a good time to rip the arms off and make some changes.

Here's what I don't got

A open 10t shock tower that will allow me to us my JC body and a front 10t bulkhead. I suppose I have to use a longer big bore shock on the front too...possibly a set of rear B5 or B6 shocks.

I've got most of the rear suspension done. After swapping the rear arms and mounts I started to fully understand the difference in geometry that would occur.

I'm not 100% sure if I can use the same turnbuckles. The long ball cups were nearly fulling screwed onto the turnbuckle before, now they are unscrewed quite a bit.

The RC10 CVDs :lol: , nope, I only had 1 B4 CVD which worked well, so I'm in need of another one.

Where I wanted to mount the shocks didn't work out. The dog bone didn't line up to the out drive. I played around with different rear hubs and the B4 ones were a bit higher, but I only had one of those too. After looking at the angle of the shocks when mounted on the rear of the tower and compressing the suspension a bit, I realized that there was too much stress on the shock shafts while in motion. I decided to move the shock to the front of the tower, which helped a lot. I also moved the top and bottom shock mounts out one hole. which gave me clearance of the bulkhead ball stud holes. I suppose I can just trim those off if it comes to that.

I tried reusing some bearings, I guess this one is done :D

B4 hub and B4 CVD. With the shock mounted further out, it raised up the arm and I no longer had the dogbone rubbing on the arm. This photo was from the prior shock location.

After all said and done, I kept the Worlds rere hubs and used B4 CVDs and B4 wheels. The Worlds rere wheels were offset too much and ended up being wider than the B6. Here's a comparison backed up with a B5M

How's the car running? Have you put many miles on it yet?

Notice much of a difference with the arm change?

Hi,
Quadra arm design was based on rere hubs, B4 bones and B4 wheels. Just what you have in there now. "V2" version of Quadra arms will give you more dogbone clearance and much stronger design both arm and mount. Hex adapter and wheels can be used also.

Slowly but surely it's getting done. I've found time to get a 10T bulkhead and nose tubes from Rod, thanks so much. I need to get the short nose tube braces or drill the tubes. Looks like I'll need to get a CF 10T tower too. The B4 CVD is sourced locally, but haven't got it yet. Should be any month now lol.

That's awesome Niki! The rest of the CF parts are Fibre-Lyte too, so it's pretty fitting. It would be nice to get a front tower that would fit both the car body and the truck bulkhead. Maybe I'll trim the tower I have so it'll fit...
