What Thumbs wrote is a accurate
The 30t mod worked perfectly, didnt gps it but much faster...didnt sacrifice any torque either! Plenty of power. It worked so good i ordered a 25t just to try out and 3 more 10mm wide belts all from hong kong, shits dirt cheap!

I also made a new custom aluminum fuel tank mount for a rc10gt tank.

Been along summer...havent messed with any vintage rc do to work and other circumstances(chic got in the way)
Anyway....here is my custom overdrive on my nitro brute with blall bearing idler and 10mm belt. Allow for a very free spinning drivetrain even with the belt on. Its been installed for awhile just never tested. I cant even tell you how many teeth i reduced it by over stock its been so long. Fired it up today..ran perfect. Speed is significant for a nitro brute. The weird thing is low end torque doesnt seem affected over the stock 9mph gear set

With this extra time at home thought i fire up all vintage nitros including the Brute. With the kyosho oil shocks rear suspension was too soft so i modiefied another set for dual rear shocks

Well i had more fun driving this than all they others.....but they ran/drove great too(Stinger [buildoff], Outlaw Rampage truck, RC10GT)
My issue is i got one tank in, then made the shock mod, then started on tank 2 and diff locked together(posi).
Last time i ran it it (6 months ago) it freewheeled the rearend. I have to pull half the truck apart per tank, (these arent easy to work on)  :(
Does anyone know if the thorp diff for the Big Brute will work in the Nitro? I would assume they are the same

Got it fixed with a reliable full tank driving it thru grass, down the street at full throttle, wheelies of sidewalks, etc.....ran it hard. Pics suc but basically took the 3 bevel gears out, cut the ends off both sides and flatened the ends, drilled a hole thru them, then cut a 3/32 MIP driver up into (3) 15.8mm pieces to use as new shafts for the bevels. Then i glued the new metal shafts inside the countergear ends so the couldnt pop out like before, i also shimmed the outdrives .10mm each to press harder on the bevels, worked great.....so far

This is my favorite vintage piece although most think its cheesey and u have to run and hide if anyone drives down the street while your running it! its just so classic and fun to drive :D

Got rid of plastic clutchbell, modified a metal one and machined a pulley to mount to it using my comm lathe
