RPS Yokomo SE

Post by Eau Rouge »

I finally got one. Built and never run, even.

:D

My wife doesn't know why I'm running around the house like a little kid on Christmas morning. She wouldn't understand anyway.

Oh my.

My Holy Grail of vintage R/C cars.

Needs a body an a wing, which should probably take the other half of my life to find. But who cares? I GOT ONE! wOOt!

I know Jay has at least one. Who else has them here?

Good for you! And please share with us, where did you find such a treasure?

I know Shodog/Jim has one.

I did something I don't normally do... I made an offer to someone on eBay to change an auction to a Buy It Now. My thought was, if I didn't do it, someone else will. All is fair in love and war. At the price I saw the last new/unused one sell for last winter, I needed to take a shot in the dark, and it worked.

Andy's Mercedes oval body and all...

The body, itself, is one of the rarest dirt oval bodies ever made. The fact that it was Andy's handiwork for a Team driver and has never been used is jaw dropping. This car was built for a big event at Radio Controlled Hobbies in Costa Mesa, CA, as a display car for Checkpoint and Andy's, and sat in a case until now. Twenty freakin' years with a body on it under glass display!

For the price, I'm shocked. I'm expecting some rust or even broken parts on a car this old, but it looks super clean in the photos. Now to get on my search for period correct electronics. I have some photos somewhere of the World Championship Gil Losi car somewhere—I need to find them. Might need to do a replica...
