eBay is not a friendly environment to sellers any more. They are more interested in gimmicks that give the illusion of growth potential to investors than to providing a stable selling platform. Changing your listings offer settings is just one of many "tactics" they are using to stimulate transactions. They have plenty of sellers, and have no qualms about squeezing the sellers wallets a little harder every quarter.

I really cant believe there isnt any competition for ebay yet. I have often said someone way smarter than me should start an auction site that charges $.99 to the seller and $.99 to the buyer no matter what the item no matter what the price.

There are a few alternative auction sites out there but they've got no where near the traffic that eBay does.

eBid is a decent auction site where listing costs start at $0.00 and the max final value fee is 3% (not including PP fees). There are other costs and plans that are involved but it's still cheaper than eBay. The problem again though is there aren't enough users.

A search for rc car on eBay returns over 248,000 hits but only 2,347 on eBid...two-thirds of those are from a single seller. I purchased a couple of parts off him 7 years ago and what he's got listed today is the same stuff from back then. :(

You caused me to have to call eBay again Klavster! It wouldn’t let me change it back because it had a bid on it  I usually would have relisted it but I told them to change it back because I didn’t want to lose my watchers and it was their fault so they needed to fix it. They couldn’t and had to credit me .30 for me to manually relist it  They did say they have had plenty of complaints lmao
