Losi noob with some JRX-Pro questions

Well, after collecting too many Tamiyas, a couple Kyoshos and a stack of RC10s, a Losi finally found a way into my garage courtesy of a good friend. Being totally new to Losi products I have a few questions to start. Losi buggies always touted having a graphite chassis out-of-the-box, but this JRX-Pro chassis seems to have a white fiberglass core. Is this normal? Its certainly stiffer than the flexy FRP diving board of a chassis that comes with the Tamiya Super Astute.

Here's a pic of the rear hubs. They seem different (less adjustment holes) than the one pictured in my old RC Car Action review. Are they from something else?

Here's a shot of the front end. The turnbuckles look aftermarket, but what brand? The steering bellcranks are RPM parts. The camber links appear to have different rod ends, Rocket City perhaps?

The front bulkhead says JR-X2. Did the Pro just reuse this part?
Sorry for all the questions. I just getting into Losi. They look pretty cool.

Welcome,

There are many different Losi parts variations. You can find a thread in here detailing most of them. Your foam core version is one of 2-3 main variations. Your chassis has the slot to make room for a servo saver, indicating it is a later version. The early solid version is more sought after by collectors. The JRX Pro and JRXT share the same chassis.

Your tie rods are Technacraft titanium units. I can't determine the rod ends from your picture.

The JRX2 front bulkhead is standard for all the JRX series. The RPM steering is a nice upgrade.

Losi gurus, please feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong.

Rear hubs are leftovers from the 5 link rear suspension

The rear hubs are the 5 link style used on the original Jrx2 & Jrxt. Those front camber rod ends are just a generic Dubro style.. The two small holes near the bellcranks and servo saver hole are for servo mounts and not original..a common modification. The titanium and RPM bellcranks are nice upgrades.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm not decided on making it a runner or shelfer yet. It'll definitely need a body and maybe wheels to be a presentable shelf queen. Its probably my 2nd favorite Losi after the original JR-X2 so I'm happy to have it.

Hi there Saito

If you end up needing/wanting parts for your Losi, Dan at OLDRC.COM / Sabula Tech may be a new friend.
A great guy to deal with and a wealth of info and parts for vintage Losi.
Plus he is a business member here on RC10 talk. https://sabulatech.com/storefront/index.php?id_category=5&controller=category
I have purchased from him many times and it has always been great. Very good prices as well. :D :D

I vote for JRX Pro. I am going to be starting my own JRX Pro build shortly as well.
