So, what did you do RC today?

This seems to be a hugely popular thread on another forum out there, so let's see how it do here?!?

Simple, what did you do RC wise today? Pics or it didn't happen! Painted a body, rewired a ESC, mounted some wheels, finished a 3-year project ............... it doesn't matter! It just had to happen today.

I wish I could start this off with something super-awesome RC10 related, but it just wasn't one of those days. I did get a couple of equipment plates printed for my HB clone. The prints are not very good as I am still tweaking settings with new equipment, but they are good enough for a cheapy clone. :D

Not today, but this past weekend. Freshened up six Speed Gem Pro motors, two of each. The other three doubles went to Frankentruck for being such a helpful & generous guy.

It wasn't today, but last Wednesday I ran my first organized RC car race since ~1996. :D It was a carpet oval race. I broke my KF2 in practice, so I slapped a set of slicks on my re-re Top Cat. I ran novice class against a few "street stock" Slashes (basically LCG chassis, RPM hop ups, and muscle car bodies) and one other car that looked like a late model dirt oval car. The ole Top Cat didn't just survived several brutal assaults (attempted vehicular manslaughter?) but TQ'ed and won

One thing I learned: toothpaste works well to remove tire marks from Lexan.

I tried my luck again last night with my re-re Cougar, but it did not go so well. Traction roll city! I have stunt planes that barrel roll as well. I had the car as low as I could get it, which was not very low at all. Stiffening the right side for the main was apparently the exact wrong decision because the rolling was much worse. My run ended with a broken front shock tower. :(

The pictures are not from the events, but they are the same cars with the same tires.

A little RC10 rehab.

Stripped and cleaned everything, replaced missing or broken parts, new hardware (mostly KnK), body mounts (CRP), and some Factory Works bling.

Been working on fettling this HB Cyclone. Started as a Drift Spec, before the previous owner spent far too much money on upgrades! Have replaced the front diff, and replaced all the electronics with nicer stuff.

So many stupid issues:
- Brushless motors don't all fit properly, because of the motor guard, so had to remove the guard, install a motor, and then see if the guard could be put back on... and then keep checking until I found a match.
- First motor I found that fit had short motor wires and a couple of dodgy screw holes.... so the one I needed to use to get the setup to work was stripped... so had to find another motor!
- Installed this 6.5T Novak motor, then found that I couldn't get a pinion mesh with the installed spur gear - and the only wayt tehy were going to mesh properly was with a dinner plate pinion (on a 6.5T? No thanks!)
- Found these originally came with a 64DP spur.... which I didn't have a spare, to replace the small 48DP fitted.
- Fitted a larger 48DP spur, but it was too big for the space, and rubbed on the chassis!
- Finally fitted an 81T spur, and a 27T pinion. Might still be too big on the pinion side, but at least I have mesh.

Next up, anchor the ESC, mount a receiver, and test it out! Wish me luck!

Organized my little workbench a bit and prepped the Delta shocks for buffing and polishing. Looking forward to getting back stateside to pick up a large bunch of spares to finish up two CC Predator Lynx builds.

No pics, but last night I rebuilt the diff in my freebie Schumacher Storm 2000. That, shock rebuilds for good measure, and a light dusting is all it is going to take to make it as good as new. The owner said he only ever drove it "a few times" before pulling the steering servo out for use elsewhere.

True... But when this guy says it is not fixable, I believe him, especially with ABS and UV (and cold during winter) exposition for about 30 years... That being said, I thought my Nichimo Spirit FF chassis was not fixable and @Bormac made something from it...
