Calling All GT Owners In Need of Transmission Upgrade

Hey guys, hope y’all are doing well. Went to a hobby store a few hours away from me and found a decent little haul of NOS parts including an OS Max 12CV in a red OS box with a see through plastic lid. I’ve never seen a box like that so I asked him to set it aside for me and will be going back next week to get it if anyone wants pictures or is interested in buying it!

Anyways, I check eBay and a few other sites daily for GT parts and I came across this pretty awesome transmission kit for the GT from Dhawk racing that was just posted yesterday. I know it’s from China but I haven’t had any issues with their parts so far (I’m using their aluminum trans case with RRP diff and idler gear). Just figured I’d give everyone a heads up since the RRP idler is scarce and this kit literally comes with everything, even the topshaft for a fair price.

I will be ordering this kit for the other GT I’m building but here’s what the just the case looks like on my modified GT (I have the custom works aluminum out drives, would like to know where I can find more nylon bushings for the dog bone end of the CVD)

Hope this can help someone and happy building!

I wonder if MIP Pucks or Kyosho RB7SS outdrive spacers would work. Custom works lists theirs as in stock.

Which outdrive part number did you end up using?

You can use old shock o-rings as replacements for the nylon bushings.

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll order a couple spare sets! Had to cut mine up to clear the spur gear on my GT so figured I may need an extra. I found part number 4386 on eBay which says it’s specifically for the GT. Here’s a picture of it from my last parts haul and when I added them to the trans
