A lot of you must already know this, but I recently found a site that has the original Vette from the movie, and it says the Vette was most likely an RC10 DS, and was driven by Jammin' Jay Halsey!

I was 15 or so when this movie came out, and that scene made a big impact on me, as far as scale RC models. Was crazy after all of these years, to find out today, those were probably all RC10's, and that was Jay Halsey driving it.

It is a short arm, 6 gear, gold pan car. It is just black.

After seeing the thread @RC10resto posted, I understand now. I did search here before posting, not sure how I missed that one. Thanks guys!

Was looking for some of those Advance Eng. Mini-Mags on eBay, and found what looks to be the correct repro's.

Says these fit Yokomo 834B RPS SE. I asked the seller about adapting these to RC10, if he responds I'll ask if he can make the correct ones used on The Dead Pool vette.

I had some direct fit wheels custom made. My Dead Pool tribute car will be one of my next projects.

If you wanted a set, this is who made them:

Those are so sweet! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Did you have to provide him a sample, or the CNC file? If I were to ask him about them, would I just call them "The Dead Pool" wheels, or is there a better term for them?

Also, do you already have your Bolink BL2254 body, for your TDP project? Thanks @Frankentruck!

I contacted Jimmy through eBay with one of his regular RC10 jelly bean wheel listings, gave him a crude picture of what I was looking for, and asked if he would do any custom work. He was willing to and then sent me some renderings of what the wheels would look like. We iterated a couple of times and then I purchased a set. He was a nice guy to work with.

This is what I initially asked about making.

This was his first rendering.

This was the change I asked for.

After he made a set, he showed me a picture before sending them to make sure it was what I wanted.

I have a Team Blue Groove reproduction body.

Much thanks @Frankentruck, would it be alright with you if I sent him the pic you posted of your set?

Is this the Team Blue Groove 1963 Corvette, you have?

I have a HPI '67 body that showed up today for a different project, has pre-cut masks and decals, really nice.

My Stepfather passed away a few years ago, and left behind his '67 Corvette to my Mom and I, so I'm building a tribute to it.

For the TDP project though, I took a chance and ordered (2) Bolink BL2254 from here:

If I get an Out of Stock email from them, I'll check out the Team Blue Groove '63 Vette. Thanks again @Frankentruck!

Yes, I have no problem with you sending a picture of my wheels. That would simplify getting a set made. He made them Nov 2022 and probably still has the design files.

I initially struggled to find a 1963 Corvette body and got the 1967 HPI too. Not sure what I'll do with the HPI now. That is the TBG body I have.

@Frankentruck, I forgot to ask if you intended to run foam tires, or rubber? Are these rims set up for rubber?

Whoa! Awesome! Stinger hood means it is a big block car, correct? :D (Ford guy, so Corvette knowledge is limited and likely mistaken)

I will be running rubber. The rears are Schumacher U6710 tires. Also, I specified that I'll be using 3/16" rear axles.

On the movie car, I think it was determined there were foams on the rear and rubber ribs on the front. If you want to run rear foams, Jimmy might be willing to make design changes.

Robobugs has a good article on this car. They show the tires to be foam. Hope this helps.
