If I had a 3D printer…

I need to keep track of so much. One day I’ll have one, but if I don’t - feel free to profit off my ideas.
On todays episode of if I had a 3D printer, I would print hex adapters for all the vintage front wheels of the world.
It just seems too easy.

It is beyond easy. Simple wheel/trans/servo adapters are one of the best parts of 3d printing.

It seems like a learning curve. Lot of research. I would want really good resolution, large heated bed, and there’s so many out there now. Not to even mention the software and computer design to learn. First I would need the work space!
But a hex-hub/spoke adapter would allow you to use front wheels in the rear too…

My greatest discovery in RC was when I put CAT 2000 fronts on the rear of my Cougar 95 for stock class racing.
It didn't matter because my driving sucked so bad, but I felt the way Costin and Duckworth must have felt when they built the first DFV

First off, the key to making your dreams into reality starts with software. Fusion360 is free for hobbyists. Grab the download and watch some tutorials. I watched the first 4 or so titans of CNC videos, just the first part where they are designing in fusion. You don't need the cam or machining portions. Then once you can draw what you want, you can either buy a printer or just use an online service.
People always try to go cheap on the printer and find out quickly you can only do so much. To make proper, usable, bashable parts you really want an enclosed printer and hard nozzle. The Bambu machines are just amazing and I have replaced my 7 older machines with 2 of them, no regrets at all. They print so much faster and better it is just incredible. I went with the x1c which is spendy but the p1p and P1S are fine machines as well. Again, not cheap- but you plug them in and your going. My other machines were hobbies of their own.
Heres a club race hero car printed in abs on one of my machines. Just an example of what people are doing. These free to download, community supported, printable cars raced snowbirds last month and were very competitive running in the A main in GT12.
We are almost to the point where seeing a printer at the track won't be wierd

It's not so bad if you take the printer hobby out of the equation. I gave one of my old trusty printers to a friend that knew nothing about em and he is printing parts daily after a couple weeks. The key is to know what your getting into. Do you buy a $100 creality printer and add a control board, Ruby nozzle, bl touch, better build plate, build an enclosure, compile marlin to add all those changes and then keep working on it all the time or do you spend the money up front and have a turn key setup. It's hard to justify spending $600-1200 on a printer but I've spent well over that upgrading my others and they are garbage in comparison. If you have the dough to do it, you absolutely won't regret it. PayPal let me pay over 6 months which also helped a ton, especially as I got two at the same time lol

The most up to date files and info are on Facebook, search for Club Race Hero.
They have a website but the files are a much older version. There is activity almost weekly and many user modified parts as well. The most recent adds a third spring above the droop screw.

Those are actually part of the "4 link" which uses live hinges at the bottom. System works really well. The part in the middle is a "dipper". You fill the well with syrup and it's a crude but very effective damper. Just try not to leave the car inverted for more than a few seconds lol!

Why print a pan car chassis when you can get one cut by an expert out of G10 or CF???
Added accessories sure, but why the pan?

I have a hoard of vehicles in the transitional years that came in both bearing and hex. T4/GT2/SC10/SC10GT
Lastly, do you know how much muff you’ll pull by simply mounting Ronal Turbos on a Fiat 500?
