I swapped the peroxide bath for bleach. The bleach did a little bit, but not nearly enough. Going to sand the porous outer layer of the parts this weekend. Pics to follow

I still have the black dye from the Yokomo rims I just did. These parts just might be destined for it!

Not to be a sceptic, but I have to agree with you about the peroxide. We’ll give it some time. I may try bleach as well if all else fails. Worst case, I buy the parts again.

If I had to do it over again, I’d use the B64 drivetrain. The two pieces that run lengthwise to reduce flex would be easier to integrate into the tub (mount to the floor) rather than having to deal with two top plates.

This build is dragging on forever. Got a bit more of the rear end done. Found some vintage 6 gear felts that are on their way. Still can’t find mint bottom load gold shocks or a set of tires that doesn’t cost me almost $100 CDN per pair after the exchange. This restore is not one of my better financ...

Last set of these I had was in 1985. Rubber was so soft, they worked great as slicks!

Finally got around to painting a body worthy of the build. As much as I wanted to Protech body, I just didn't like the look of it. A Mirage body just suited it better. It's amazing what happens when bits and pieces sit in peroxide for weeks. Also got a fresh pack of gold screws.





Got a bunch of replacement vintage parts coming. Replica body and stickers have also been sourced.
