Re: RC10GT Brushless Conversion Performance Review

Nice!

What body it that? I am using the Tower ST15 body...

I like mine on clay, but could use a bit more rear weight bias. I guess I could replace my shorty with a full size.

No kidding! I had a guy do me a favor and try flipping me over with his SCT...of course with my freshly painted body

Re: Project: LS1 Chevette

And as far as the DA goes, I've heard the term but have no idea what it is or what it does. I was trying to explain it, but Wikipedia does a better job...haha Density Altitude: the altitude relative to the standard atmosphere conditions at which the air density would be equal to the indicated air d...

Re: Project: LS1 Chevette

Nice! Tracks don't open up here for another month...my car isn't ready yet anyway. FWIW, my reaction times get worse the older I get...haha Car is really consistent, what tires are you running at the track? How hard are you leaving on the converter, sounded like a high idle. Definitely not a sleeper...

Re: RC10GT vs. RC10 Stealth trans

I can take some measurements tonight. Are you looking to try a mid-motor conversion? The GT trans is a laydown/forward mounting unit, and it a bit longer/lower than the stealth. I have yet to see an instance where a stealth is not strong enough, and the GT trans is internally the same, aside from a ...

Re: Another RC10GT-E Build

Thanks!

This will be a runner, so I didn't make it too nice figuring that I would need to change the layout depending on how it drives.

We have a new offroad indoor carpet track I want to try out...just not sure what I should do for tires.

Re: Another RC10GT-E Build

All the big pieces are done, just need to find some time to hit the track. My Badger 105 arrived yesterday, so I got a makeshift painting area set up and toyed around on some paper for 5 minutes, then decided to paint the body. It is a mixture of airbrush and rattlecan depending on what form I had w...

Re: Another RC10GT-E Build

Made some progress last night. Started converting it to 12mm hexes all around. I was unsure the T4 dogbones would be long enough, but it worked out great. I just had to use some spacers on the axle to move it inward a bit to keep the bones in the outdrives. Rear STRC 0 deg hubs drilled out for 1/8&q...

Re: RC10GT Brushless Elec Speed Runner Build

Ahh, OK, I am in Plymouth.

I haven't found any decent roads to open mine up yet...I hit 45mph in the parking lot at work on 2S, but I needed a bit more real estate on 4S

I've found the aluminum ones a couple places, but no luck scoring plastic ones, yet. If I find them somewhere, I'll post up.

Re: RC10GT Brushless Elec Speed Runner Build

What is your target ride height?

Also, it might not hurt to look into 0 degree rear arm mounts

Re: OUTLAWD's Re-Re WC Build

Fixed the shock, added some weight in the nose, and made a couple ESC changes. A test drive in the street revealed that this thing is ridiculous. Rolling into it at 15-20mph rust resulted in pulling wheelies... Made it back out to the track yesterday for a practice session. A new configuration, and ...

Re: Another RC10GT-E Build

Made some progress on #2 Picked up a Tower ST-15 body. Not sure if I will narrow my rear tower, or trim the body to clear. Got the topshaft shims I needed to button up the trans, mounted the motor plate, and started working on the rear brace. I used a strip of CF to extend the trans brace to include...

Re: Another RC10GT-E Build

Got this running a few weeks ago, and tested it out on 2S...clocked it at a drama free 45mph and everything was ice cold after a couple runs. Plugged in 4S and things were a little less manageable. The parking lot at work wasn't quite long enough to get the power down. Picked up some foam donuts and...

Re: OUTLAWD's Re-Re WC Build

The snapped shock shaft has me a bit confused...I'm no metallurgist, but the fracture looks like the shaft was made from powdered metal, and it broke right at the threads. The landing wasn't THAT hard, and I might expect a steel shaft to bend, but not break. I think I saw a similar complaint with re...
