Re: TC3 diff parts - compatiblity?

My suggestion would be to file in the flat spot into the diff halves instead it'd be easier and you'd only have to do it once and be able to use both types of diff rings. Thanks for the suggestion I believe it would be more efficient indeed I'm already concerned about grinding the diff rings .... I...

GoMachV wrote: Fri Dec 16, 2022 11:57 am It might not be a problem but I would work slowly grinding those as not to work harden just a portion of the ring.

Re: TC3 diff parts - compatiblity?

McMC still doesn't ship abroad in 2022... sigh.... The rings are very hard, but you can use a Dremel and stone to grind out the D shape to make it circular. It's not too difficult. It also doesn't have to be super accurate, the rest of the diameter will seat the ring. Thaks Joe - didn't think about ...

TC3 diff parts - compatiblity?

Howdy yall remember when we were pillaging TC3 diff rebuild kits for our Stealth Cars? how the wheels have turned, eh ?!?! I am rebuilding a TC3 atm to be a gentle runner. The car I bought came fully decked out with tons of blue (useless) bling, including lightweight alloy outdrives. I sourced...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

It's a Team Orion for sure , just found a picture , of a Method 27x2 with exactly the same end bell and brush holder . chrome_image_3 Apr 2022 08_35_43 BST.png Sadly I think it's a current model as I just found one in stock with a shop  yup - that is a proper SV2 for sure. Not a current model,...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

there was a significant structural design difference between the CRF design and the Checkpoint (that the reedy is likely based on) : in the CRF, the brushes are angled 45degrees... this was the enabler for lesser comm/brush wear because it miminized brush bounce. (the V2 design ran cooler as the hea...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

yup that's a Team Orion-Peak (the TOP on the head) SV2-based mill. The V2 had the fancy and expensive milled-in-switzerland alloy head and the round, 45deg brushes. The SV2 was the budget version with a plastic+stamped metal head. I actually live 1km away from where those heads were developed, test...
