Re: Houge RC10 with prototype trailing arms

hello Everyone, I haven't been here in a while, but I have some info on the various aluminum arms that are posted on this thread. The first pictures of the ebay car with the large aluminum rear arms are actually the Andy's prototypes that were done in conjunction with houge. I was told these were pr...

Re: Kyosho SST transmission diagnosis

There was a casting defect in the gearbox halves. After kyosho realized this, they just included the corrected parts in the kit as an addition. So you had 2 sets of gearbox halves. Same can be said with the ball studs. The result here is that there are "new" gearbox halves floating around ...

Re: Optima Hot trick Project

I was thinking of buying that car as well...but I have too many projects already. Interesting how you mounted the battery spacers on the front shock towers. The platinums are just a hair too long. I have the same problem on my hot trick conversion.

Re: A&L Steering on a Kyosho Lazer ZXR mods.

Nice work. I did the same with a Lazer a few years ago. As long as you can find (cut) the correct spacer...it fits like a glove :) On mine, I had a nut against the chassis holding down the long screw. This way, I could use an spacer....and then another nut on top of the plate. the post for my A&...

Nice collection of cars. What kind of bell crank is that on the modified pro?

Re: Un painting jrx2 wheels

Acetone will work on those wheels since they are nylon. As for the purple power, I found that purple power will fade the wheels...giving them a thin white film...like if you sanded plastic. Also, if you leave the wheels in the purple stuff for too long, they will have a purple tint. I have experienc...

Re: Un painting jrx2 wheels

First question is what color are the wheels? As previously stated, the original light orange wheels are more of a "plastic" vs. nylon for the other wheels.

Other wheels:

5 spoke:

white
yellow
dark (later) orange
red

logo wheels

white
yellow
orange
red
neon yellow (pro SE)

Re: how to get from hydra-drive to dual slipper using modern

hello Erik, Are you just trying to use the newer slipper and spur?...or are you also trying to use the hydradrive with the modern slipper? I recently built a jrx racer with a XX trans. Spurs are getting expensive and harder to find. I wound up using the double slipper...which was a direct fit. http:...

Re: Early Style, Thin Jrx-2 Shock Spring Collar Repair?

The shock diameter is very close to the kyosho platinums. As for a permanent fix, I've never really seen one that doesn't involve totally changing the look of the part. :(

Re: Pro Cat Restoration (highwayracer)

I finally finished this one. The project was on hold becasue I misplaced some parts  I did modify the car slightly because I wanted to give that that retro CAT look and still have some of the modern upgrades. It has: Trinity wheels (dyed black) Boss Cat slipper Lite Sink motor plate & heat...

I think that what it is. The narrow front tires also give it that buggy look. Any idea what body you'll be running on it?

Re: My Staten Island Rocket restoration (early JRX2)

It only uses the one but brings up the question of why JG made them? Was it for people with broken towers? I can't bring myself to cut the tower body nub off Personally, I found that using the tower mount in front cause the body to break quicker. Before switching to the plastic chassis, I used the ...

Re: JRX2 - Restoration/modification - 5 link mid motor

I built a mod motor jr for oval racing years ago, but mine used the H-arms vs the 5 link. The trans conversion is very easy to do and I used the stock motor plate (modified). I know I still have the plate here, but I can't find it. But this is what I did: losi mod motor plate.jpg By doing this, you'...
