Re: My ultima pro

Nice ride.

I raced one back then too. I had a Thorp gear set and a Trinity or Composite Craft chassis and a few other bits that made it competitive and reliable. Then Losi was the flavour or the month so I started racing a Jrx2 - which I still have.
I wish I had kept the ultima too...

Re: Optima is back!!

I'm in. Then i'll get an Ultima, Javelin and Mid SE if they do them. I just hope they give around 6 months between each release so I can gradually blend them into my collection without raising too much suspicion. It's kind of funny when you look at it. Our parents used to be the limiting factor on o...

Re: Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!

I would buy a re-re Optima in a heartbeat, and a Javelin, Mid and Ultima. I might have to get 2 of each though so I can run one and display one. I have RC10's and Jrx's that are all runners and ex-racers. I don't feel same about displaying them as I would with the Kyosho's - they are absolutely beau...

Re: It's so quiet around here!

I have 3 Jrx2/T/Pro projects to complete. It's just a matter of finding the time and money and parts to get them done.

If anyone has some cash left over from their RC budget, pm me and...lol

Cheers,

Michael.

Re: Tamiya Fox re-re

My memory is fuzzy, but I seem to recall seeing a Tamiya kit or two at the lhs with a sticker on it saying it had an upgraded motor. Maybe kind of like how some kits now come with tshirts or cleaning brushes or whatever? Sometimes ball bearings too for limited runs. I don't remember any special mar...

Re: Tamiya Fox re-re

Thats very interesting, did the motor come in seperate packaging or was it included in the blister packaging? Yes CAT tyres were a must back then, I even fitted them to the front of my original as seen in this old pic with my first trophy for RC racing (and my Big Bear Truck LOL) http://i702.photob...

Re: Tamiya Fox re-re

I got an original Fox as a Christmas special package deal for $200 in 1988. After owning a used Hunter (and spending more than the purchase price trying to keep the gears from stripping and MSC from frying) the Fox was a dream to build and run. An interesting point with mine, it came with a Technitu...

Re: Resurrecting/Modernizing Your Vintage R/C's Electronics

Hi everyone, I took a leap into the modern age got some 2.4 radio gear, brushless combos and lipos recently. I had my Compostite craft/RPM RC10 with a 9t and it went like a bullet but had trouble keeping thye front wheels on the ground. I had a 13.5 in my tub car and it was better but still very lig...

Re: KYOSHO 'BURNS' ELECTRIC, NOW COMPLETE!

I am soon to get started on a box stock original BURNS that I also want to fit out a similar electric conversion to. I have another new body ready to go and look to painting it in the Optima livery. Can't wait to see the Optima version. It would be cool if you can get a 1/8 wheel and tyre combo tha...

Re: Project RC10

Great looking truck Viperchief. I like the black wheels and chunky rubber. What tyres are they?

Just a note, this probably belongs in the truck section.

KHS - I think it's Houge bellcranks.

Michael.

It's the original Tamiya Hilux Monster Racer body. It was based in the same chassis as that King Cab.

Mmm nice easy paint schemes. These are important to know when you're as inept as I am with paint.

Re: RPM Worlds Front End

Tops! Thanks for that gomachv! Next question is does anyone have any templates that I could print off as a guide? I want to make a couple of front worlds towers, team car type towers for .71 and .89s and some worlds rear towers. Also want to do some JRX Pro/SE towers too. I'm sure I have seen some p...

Re: RPM Worlds Front End

G'day everyone, I little bit off topic, I want to make up some of my own custom shock towers and parts. Can someone tell me what tools I should use to cut and shape them? I have drills, jigsaw, dremel, woodworking router and a bench grinder. I might be able to get a friend to help me with access to ...
