Re: Sanyo yellow heatshrink

China uses it for wrapping broomsticks ;) suffer less splinters when you're sweeping, also they use their prettified broomsticks to hang their laundry out to dry.

Re: Brat Steering

ORV steering knuckles have the ball already installed... wouldn't try changing to larger ball, ain't much meat there to work with. How many servos are you installing? Steering servo is offset due to original designed 2nd MSC servo next to it; if you don't need that then it makes sense to make your o...

Re: Vintage Radio Gear

Have you actually tested that thing as working yet? Age & moisture ain't kind to electronics, especially trimpots (wheel & trigger) and capacitors. Also one annoying particular about Hitec... not sure how far back this started but their servo splines are different to Futaba, Acoms etc. T kit...

Re: How much is a NIB World's RC10 worth to you?

So I'm in Hong Kong on vacation and spotted a new World's re-release rc10 at a local shop. First time I've seen a NIB rc10 (I was late to the re-re period.) They're asking a cool $650usd. Are these really worth that much these days? It's Hong Kong. They ain't shy to make a buck... especially off fo...

Re: So who also collects Lego?

Hola fellow Lego lovers! Love looking at those giant vintage Technics chassis past 40+ yrs... technically interesting, but somehow no real desire to own them :P I like building, but after that - what now? It'll just sit around gathering dust. 9398 otoh... that's the first Technics kit that's stayed ...

You should try to find a comm lathe, before they all get lost in a dumpster.

Re: Smoked Novak GTB

You've likely blown 1 or 2 of the 6 drive channels. Does it still work in Brushed configuration? Be careful about using it though... sometimes the blown FET is stuck 'on' and conducts, which heats up the heatsink even if ESC seems to work ok. No idea if anybody fixes them anymore. Could be possible ...

Re: Zenith of the brushed pre-lipo esc?

Yep loved Novak, orange was iconic.

GT7 & GTS were good but didn't think they were that much better than preceding Cyclone & Atom. They were bigger too.

To a kid geek... plugging a Cyclone into your Pit Wizard (PC, handheld or MilleniumPro) to program it was the height of RC geekdom.

Re: Just purchased two NOS RC10s

Man, that Lego set brings back fond memories. :D 852 is a crap model for playability  The rack&pinion relies solely on clutchpower to hold it together and the transmission is really only 1WD  Ok ok, so it's from Lego's first generation of Technics. But how long did we have to wai...

Re: Just purchased two NOS RC10s

Big fan of that Technic 854 gokart too :P Yeah, I’m really happy to have it compete now. I had long lost many of the steering swivel plates, the seat hinge plate, several yellow parts, most of the black slope parts that make up the top of the seat and a few others. Well, I came across the box with ...

Re: A comprehensive history of Ko Propo EX1 (1982-2002)

Just came across this thread while searching on google. Would anyone know the date that this KO Propo EX-10 was manufactured? Just acquired it, and was hoping it was period correct for my Kyosho Turbo Burns, around 1989 I think. yep that's the very first EX10... circa early 1990s, 92-93 from guesst...
