Re: Mid Motor XXX-T Build...
Took this out the street to play a bit...as it was 60o today. Damn, it's silly fast on just a 7.4v LiPo. I can be at 60% throttle going down the street, punch it and it gets all squirly trying to get traction again. My little guy was driving a slash around as well, and we had to all but drag him bac...

Re: Mid Motor XXX-T Build...
Depending on the track, I wouldn't get too worried, they ran them with some success before adding the 4th gear. Only really an issue on low traction tracks as I understand it, which seem pretty rare in these days of running slicks in off road. Flipping the motor without the extra gear doesn...

Re: Mid Motor XXX-T Build...
Keep us posted. I know some X Factory guys, might be able to call on them for advice if needed. I'm guessing that turning will be the least of your worries. My main concern is something that I can't do much about until I make some serious changes. I had to reverse the motor rotation as the transmis...

Re: Mid Motor XXX-T Build...
How do you have it screwed down? There's not much thickness to work with is there? Have you ran it much yet? Still looks pretty clean. (see I can do something other than ask silly questions, well sorta anyway) I have it going threw to low profile lock-nuts on the bottom side. The sides of the chass...

Re: Mid Motor XXX-T Build...
My battery hold down came in today.....works great.....its a nice steel plate that has 2 Velcro straps to secure the LiPo. and the plate is bolted down to the chassis. No worries about a Lipo getting loose on a hard crash.

Re: I got me some Slashes...
The hobby shop sold me one with my first truck, worst $50 I've ever spent. Shortly after that I bought my Tekin and what a world of difference! Fully charged batteries, every time. I've still got the MRC that I use as a starter charger and top EVERYTHING off with the Tekin. When you've got 8 batter...

Re: I got me some Slashes...
I picked up a couple used MRC 959's to take care of charging duties, as they are soooo easy to use as well. You'd be better off with a cheesy Duratrax charger than a piece of  MRC. MRCs are notorious for false peaks and other problems. They just need a fan mod to cure that problem. I have ha...

I got me some Slashes...
I got yet another Slash so I can have 2 kids run at the track with me when I finally get out there. Still waiting on some used batteries I picked up from some other forums, but I will have 4 batteries per truck. I also got RTR Losi DSM 2.4GHz radios in each. I took the Tx\Rx from my Speed-T and put ...
