Re: 2 quick CAT XLS Masami questions...

I just wanted to follow up my original question also, with this. I contacted Schumacher some time after I posted this thread, to ask where the CAT XLS Masami was manufactured. The answer? Thank you for your E-Mail. Our kits are still designed and manufactured here in Northampton, England. Best Regar...

Re: ayk 566b super trail bison ( nearly finished)

will the sg coyote body fit it . Since these are both pretty rare cars, just a little note for the historical record... the SG Coyote and AYK 566B Super Trail Baja Bison bodies do indeed look similar. But as I own new original examples of both, I just thought I'd note the differences for you all, f...

That body looks just like a SG Coyote body. Nice find! 2 quick CAT XLS Masami questions...

Just some quick, probably easy questions...
1. Where is the new CAT XLS Masami kit manufactured? China?
2. Does anyone know what exact driver figure was used in the box art pic of the original car? It's even got steering wheel+hands. http://www.rcscrapyard.net/schumacher-cat-xls.htm

cheers guys.

Very cool also - there are not many examples of the Monogram Thunder release still around, that are NIB.

Re: Mugen Manx

As far as the Wave Hunter, I have a transmitter in a monogram bag that says Wave Hunter, I always thought it was a mystery boat radio but was this just what they called their radios then? Yes, pretty much every R/C car made by Yonezawa had "Wave Hunter" on the transmitter - this was just ...

Re: Mugen Manx

nope not the truck i'm talking about. Not everything is on a google search. tandy scrubbed that one fast back in the 1980s. I have the a few parts from one somewhere. Well I'd be interested to see it then. And as for '"not everything is on a google search" - my reply wasn't based on googl...

Re: Mugen Manx

Icarus was first,, well it was part of a series: Icarus, Pegasus, cosmo which came over as the COX bandito this was all in 1984 the falcon was out in 1986 Actually, the Icarus and Pegasus were 1985. The Cosmo I think was a year later, or so, as it does not even appear in the 1985 Kyosho catalogue. ...

Re: Mugen Manx

Coors was the stock car version of Marui's Ninja so not a GH clone. Traxxas Cat is close to a clone but had a Wild One trailing arm front suspension. Radio Shack Red/Golden Arrows would were like that too. Monogram Lightning/Thunder (Yonezawa Wave Hunter) were an even worse versions of that set-up....

All credit to you for keeping this original. If there are any non-original parts in it, I guess they could be swapped out over the years as you find the originals

Re: MY B.N. AYK VIPER

Very nice Viper. I could be wrong, but is the rear wing on it, original? It doesn't really look like the usual one... all the Viper kits I'm aware of, have had the curved rear wing. (Note: the kit box photo rear wing, to my knowledge, has never been available - but I'd be happy to be wrong about thi...

Re: Tyco Jet Hopper Refurbish

Yeah, the Jet Hopper is a pretty tough little car compared to most others. So I'd agree that the bent axle might have caused the transistor issue. Great job getting the wheels off and straightening it out, that's a tricky job as well. Glad to hear the site has helped. Yep, relative to the ones relea...

Re: Tyco Jet Hopper Refurbish

Great effort here. Those original transmitters are actually very easy to fix, and the vast majority out there which have "intermittent signal issues", simply need a careful clean-down. They are pretty resilient, but you went the extra mile and ID'd a transistor issue as well. Very glad to ...

Re: Rerelease Optima shell vs Original Differences

Technically, if Kyosho created a new mold for the reissue Optima body, the reissue body may be considered different (even if similar). I can't speak for every mold Kyosho once had. Maybe they used the original body mold in the case of the Optima. But the general view is that many (all?) of the old m...
