Re: A comprehensive history of Ko Propo EX1 (1982-2002)
I'm trying to dig up some info on the KO modules for the EX-1 Mars. Specifically, I'm wondering how to distinguish which band they're running on (e.g. 27/75mhz); I'm after one on 75mhz. I've also seen RF-102F and RF-103F modules with the Mars label. If you guys/gals have any helpful info, please pas...

Re: Race Stories
Hmm, one of my fondest race memories was of the Ranch Red 100, '95 I think. I was running 2wd expert stock. Ended up qualifying 3rd in the A but my motor let go in the main. Marcus (the announcer at the time) was making fun of me on the straights as cars would leave me in the dust. I was able to fin...

Impossible to define in regard to the hobby since it has no relation what so ever. I use 20 years as my personal cutoff.

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion
I have the SX3; it was a nice build. The shocks were super easy to bleed too. Not sure what they did different but they perfect first try.

I sure like building high Tamiyas. Fit and finish is always top notch.

Only motors I remember boasting 100k rpm were the drag motors with "rare earth magnets;" Astroflight anyone

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion
I've never been a Mamba fan either. The Gen2 Tekin is very nice but I absolutely love the Viper VTX10r I'm running in the 4wd buggy and if for some absurd reason I decided to go EP with a 1/8 vehicle (gives me shivers just thinking about it  ), I would start with the VTX8 :). Both offer very go...

Re: New Cat SX - Impressive Parts!
The 3 belt is a pain in the butt to maintain sometimes (changing front belts makes me want to stab kittens in the face!). Drivetrain just never seems to be as free as I think it should be. Did you have to change belts ony after 3 meetings? The reinforced belts werent in stock when I ordered...

Re: Jrx2 motors
Little bit later down the road but 10t doubles were my favorites. Peak Performance had a 10x2 with lay down brushes that was one of my favorite motors of all time (thought it was the Nightmare but that was a 27t).

Re: New Cat SX - Impressive Parts!
I currently race a K1 and SVR on our dirt track. Before the K1 I had an SX3. All 3 cars are very well made, I always get guys at our track wanting to look at the cars. I'm sure you'll have a great time with the SX, just know up front they do require a little bit more maintenance that 2wd cars. How ...

Re: New Cat SX - Impressive Parts!
My first Schumacher was the SX3 Pro and the fit and finish was quite nice. The shocks where a breeze to bleed and where very smooth. I raced it a whole 3 times... Been sitting collecting dust for almost a year now. I too was impressed with the build quality and the car works well enough, just not ma...

Quite alright, I was super happy to get the pair of ballcups! The ones on my car are all chewed up so it was a welcomed surprise. Thanks againbiff85ta wrote:I was going to send some more ballcups and ballstuds but I guess I had used them all already in my build.madweazl wrote:It was a good mail day![]()

Re: Jrx2 motors
Had a B&R Bullet in mine that I absolutely loved. Probably my most favorite stock motor until the Peak Performance Beast came out years later. Had some Race Preps that I liked but nothing as much as the B&R.
Edit: on the mod front, I mostly had Twisters.
