Re: $100 Kyosho Javelin

You put the chain in backwards. The links should be facing the other direction. FYI

Re: An Optima Mid, finally!

I do random Google searches for Craigslist ads containing RC cars/parts I need. That just happened to be one of the ads that popped up.

Re: An Optima Mid, finally!

I said I had a couple receivers, I didn't mean I wanted to trade them both. I can take some pics if you're interested though. Both are FM 3ch units. One is that same orange color as the ESC you have there, the other is chrome.

And I don't know what you mean by "GTA".

Re: An Optima Mid, finally!

What are you looking to get for the Avante?

Nice score, BTW. I just saw the Craigslist ad for those today. I have a couple Tekin micro FM receivers if you'd be interested in trading for that Novak receiver. A Tekin unit would go better with that ESC. :)

Re: My restored Optima collection...

OT-57 are the shock stays required to use gold or platinum shocks. When I purchased this car it actually had those on it. I picked up a set of standard ones to try keeping this car somewhat true to the original. I figure if I'm not going to use the bigger shocks, why have stays that have extra holes...

Re: My restored Optima collection...

I won't be running those tires. I have an extra set of mid wheels with some Tamiya tires for running. I also have some OT-66 in pretty bad shape I could use for running. My best set isn't even mounted on any of my cars. And somehow, I ended up with three others in really good shape, but it needs a f...

Re: My restored Optima collection...

Thanks. And agreed on the original Optima. I even love the way the old red shocks look against the box art colors so much that I refuse to replace them with gold shocks.

Re: My restored Optima collection...

I'll probably lightly run them. They aren't perfect, so it would be a shame not to. If I want to thrash something I have a 10yr old Traxxas T-Maxx and Slash 4x4. :D

My restored Optima collection...

I posted these on the Tamiya Club over the past several weeks, but after finding this site recently I figured I'd share here as well. All three cars were torn down, cleaned up, and refurbished. I placed a few new parts here and there and all three got new repro Marwan bodies that I painted/decal'd. ...
