Sad times

I'm considering selling my Procat  Sorry if that means I break my promise not to sell. Obviously I will sell the electrics separately but I'm wondering if I should sell the chassis whole or break up the main components e.g. custom carbon fibre chassis with LiPo trays and belt cover, custom ball...

Re: CAT build

Have you also considered Kamtec? They've been making shells for years. My Procat shell from them seems very good. I got some undertrays from Team Bluegroove.

Re: Bosscat gone XLS

The main reasons I use the overdrive pulley are because the tooth form is better, it's wider (for the 6mm belt) and it takes the super-diff alloy washer carriers, which are super smooth. The extra drive to the front doesn't hurt. However, for your Bosscat the normal front pro-diff should be perfect....

The steering cranks are 5mm thick. Everything carbon fibre on my car you can get from Fibre-Lyte. They do superb quality work. I think the 6mm wide long belt is less likely to slip than the 4mm standard belt. This means you're preserving the pulleys and you don't have to run it so tight, giving a mo...

There's a photo of the belts on my Procat on my thread here... http://www.oople.com/forums/showpost.php?p=625969&postcount=448 As you can see, I also run the Bosscat diff. The 5mm "high torque" Schumacher belts are fine for brushless if they're tensioned correctly. It's the long belt w...

Re: Bosscat gone XLS

RM your Bosscat is looking great! I've experimented with a few different materials for the long belt. In the end I found a 6mm Kevlar reinforced Polyurethane belt, which is grey NOT orange. It has a higher modulus and you can feel it is less stretchy than the orange belt ( polyester reinforced polyu...

crash back rings

I reckon those are too thin. I race my Procat with 3 of these...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RUBBER-O-RINGS-METRIC-20MM-ID-X-3MM-THICK-QTY-12-/180715750108?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a137f82dc

They're quite cheap too.

Re: Hi all new to the forum

I think they are out of stock at Schumacher.

I just use cheap o-rings off eBay. I think the crashback ones are 20x3mm

Re: Luke's Procat rebuild

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think the 4mm will cause a problem but it will change the angle of the dampers slightly. I'll post photos this weekend if the pieces arrive!

Procat braces

I'm going to ask Fibre-Lyte if they can make these out of 4mm carbon... http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m134/kaszal/Procatfrontbraces_zps85be291d.jpg The idea is to lock up the front towers and crashback system to get better performance from the dampers and more responsive and consistent handling...
