Re: My first (RC) love - Got a Marui Hunter Today!

Oh, I'll definitely run it at least once. I just picked up some new front tires/wheels for it, so I'm not even worried about the current dry-rotted ones disintegrating on me! The backs are not even correct, so I'm not worried about those - I can burn them up!

Re: New/Old Graphite Buggy Build

Resurrecting another old project thread as I have been wrapping up some long-dormant projects, I've finally gotten my graphite buggy pretty much done. I might try to track down a Protech II for it, as I'd like it to look more original, and have to figure out a motor/electric plan. I was originally g...

Re: My first (RC) love - Got a Marui Hunter Today!

Thanks guys! I'm really excited how it came out. I'll eventually track down the last bits, but for now, I'm happy. I am thinking of putting in some electronics and getting it out for for a gentle final run before it goes on the shelf permanently, but I have to find an appropriate place around here.

Re: My first (RC) love - Got a Marui Hunter Today!

Hey all, nothing like resurrecting a decade old project and chain, but after largely stepping away from RC due to life (new jobs, long commutes, travel soccer, etc..) I finally used the lockdown to get back on track, and "completed this one. Ok, complete is relative, as it could definitely use ...

Re: transmitter decision

I've used the Flysky B, and would agree with some of the above. For just bashing around, it was more than adequate, no issues. When I took it to the track a few times, it was pretty frustrating. I picked up a Hitec Lynx 4s the other day, mostly because it was the cheapest way to get a left hand swit...

Re: Tracks around NYC???

Sorry for the non-response last week, was travelling. The LI track actually moved, so it's in Lindhurst now (same general area - website link below) - I'll be there next Sunday - my munchkin is having his 9th birthday party there - they do a cool package with short course trucks for a couple of hour...

Re: RC500 Rear Suspension

Thanks - I was able to get the rear tower, and it has one of the spacers (I think - it's an odd shaped piece, 'bout an inch long with two holes, so sounds right) - will need to find, or make, a second. Makes sense on the assembly/spacing front. I was just building a re-re RC10, and had to do much of...

Re: snow buggy

Sweet! Any chance of posting some pictures of the chassis/suspension with the body off (the new body looks great on it by the way)? From what you can see through the holes in the body, it looks amazing!

Re: Tracks around NYC???

Nah, it sort of died there. I took a new job about that time (in NJ) and between the new job, commute and kids getting older/busier, I fell off the RC radar myself. Never completely stopped, but cut way back until the last year or so. I did find the off-road track out in Farmingdale (Island Raceway ...

Re: My wheel nut fell off

as I read my post - I wanted to clarify - I'm not trying to imply anything negative about the LHS - they are fine, always friendly, and my only complaint is that it's pretty heavily geared towards both RTR & Nitro - I just mentioned that to show just how far the hobby has changed around here tha...

Re: My wheel nut fell off

It's definitely a change - my 8yr old has been paying attention to "what Daddy does down in the basement" And asked if, for his birthday, he can "build a car with me". Pretty cool, but, well... then he's going to want to actually drive it. I may have 20+ cars, but I'd be ...

Re: Wider suspension arms

quick question on the front arms - from what I've seen in other threads, these should be approx. the same length pin-2-pin as they Klein/Dynotech front arms, at 60.3mm, correct? Any reason they wouldn't be basically interchangeable with a truck front end setup? "dynotech front arm specs. center...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

The body is perfect (except for the paint, hopefully I can get it off, but if not, I'll polish it up, and live with it - the wing is pretty beat, but maybe it's fixable. The whole care is dirty, but well maintained - should be mostly a clean up & tune project.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Well, not quite "in the post", but there was a post office around the corner from the guy I bought it from, so close enough! Always had a thing for the 1/8 on-road cars, and now am apparently well on my way to a collection of them, between this and the 500 I picked up the other day...
