Re: JRX PRO - Basket case to restored runner.

What a cool old-school Losi! Excellent work, indeed!

Just checked your site...I'm going to add your place to my list of tourist attractions if I ever get to visit Down Under...the Kyosho section made my eyes water...so much sweetness there! My jealousy is immeasurable...

Re: what runners to you play with most?

Rc10's are too fast and too fragile to run in the garden with my children...the favourite "garden runner" is my High-lift Bronco (3 link-panhard with coilover set up). you running fluid in your axles? i notice what looks to be drip pans... probably to keep the tires from flat-spotting. so...

Re: what runners to you play with most?

Laugh if you like, but it's fun to drive something that doesn't need to be tweaked and tuned all the time: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/Doubletime/newrccars003.jpg (it's a Nikko "Hevy Hitter". My daughter and I removed the cheesy stickers and dug in to my old R/C decal stash to co...

Re: No Love.... Kyosho Triumph [Updated with build progress]

It's looking like I'm going to be off work for the rest of the year, so it's time to gather up the rest of my R/C stuff and put it on Ebay. I'm posting this here so y'all will know in advance. Triumph 1) Not such bad condition...could be a runner with a little TLC, shown with a Losi Pro-SE body: htt...

Re: No Love.... Kyosho Triumph [Updated with build progress]

Cool to see some Triumph fans out there! I have two in the attic, and enough bits to probably build a third (minus chassis plates). The Triumph was the first r/c car I built myself. I was the only one running Kyosho at a track dominated by Team Cars and the (then new) Losi XX. When I retired the bug...

If the chassis isn't too beat up, why not have it polished down to bare shiny metal? I've seen this done before and the effect is cool when combined with black-dyed nylon parts and a tasteful body. I bet someone here could get you a set of chrome wheels with nice tires too...

Hoopty, I have a bunch of old manuals for RC10's and some Kyosho stuff too. If you think we can get away with it (and you want to use the bandwidth) I could scan those pages and send them to you to contribute to the archive.

I raced one of these CC/RPM cars once at Hobbytrax (the track owner Duane loaned the car to me after I broke my Triumph one time). Definately a smooth car... I changed the Triumph to match the CC/RPM car's front end geometry... made it handle jumps so much better.

[wipes away tears] the Triumph buggy was the first kit I ever built. It was such a cool car to race, it was practicaly silent on the track (thanks to the belt drive tranny). I had the bulkhead for the front end that stood the front shock tower up a bit more, but I started having problems breaking th...
