Re: Ascot Sprinter #1004?
ok, that's good to know. I had wondered what significance there was for the #98. I didn't think it reasonable that they would print a serial number on the box but I also didn't see that it could have been the 98th model/ design. thanks for the info

Re: xxxt mf1 find
yeah, I've always had a thing for the trucks. (never was much of a winner in them or anything else) I can appreciate the more realistic short course stuff but was a little bummed that EVERYONE was going to them and made the classic truck obsolete

Re: Ascot Sprinter #1004?
I would think the same way actually, doesn't look like a rubber stamp number or anything simple to do. Do you think the aluminum tag was made as a one off thing? that's something east to do....but I also can't imagine that there were 97 designs prior to mine

Re: xxxt mf1 find
I don't think that I will plan on running it. I have several beat ones as it is so it will stay safe until I need the space and pass it on to anyone that would like to display it. The only car i don't think I will ever sell is my original lxt, I might do a resto on it but with a baby on the way, a m...

Re: xxxt mf1 find
ok, sorry for delay. Here's some pics. Airtronics mx3, LRP IPC pro sport esc, trinity P2k pro motor...not a single scratch on the thing. Guy said he didn't finish it because it was missing the part for the motor (pinion gear)

xxxt mf1 find
hi all, I know they aren't vintage but i thought it was still an interesting find. I had a garage sale yesterday and a neighbor saw some rc stuff I had put out and brought over this truck, unfinished in the original box, un-glued tires, no shock oil, not quite finished. He had a brand new airtronics...

Re: UK RC10 rebuild
lol charlie, that does seem odd but it did look like they had pretty fair weather during the olympics. I'd say that the hobby has taken its hold very well in you. That's a pretty good pile of cars you've gotten now. And I thought that I was crazy, I go to car swap meets and come home with nothing bu...

Re: 4wd rc10 Jay Halsey Prototype Pics from WC 85'
that's some pretty primitive 4wd stuff there! I like the flex shaft front drive on the buggy at the bottom, also see the simple bent wire axle shafts kinda neat to be innovative.

Re: Sharing some new finds
as someone else mentioned in their reply. I don't believe that is a "sway bar" It looks to be a torsion bar/spring. The arms twist the spring which carries the weight, then the shocks are just dampening the bouncing aspect of the chassis. I've always liked the Dual Sports, have yet to find...

Re: C stamp chassis find
i wasn't saying that brake fluid fixed cracks, that's why I asked if there was anything better than shoe goo. I then was just commenting on the brake fluid for paint removal seeming to have mixed results. Sounds like a lot of people have trouble with it or perhaps the original paint itself etching i...
