The following thread may be helpful. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=28751 The download link in the last post of the thread above is not working. I will look into options to make the file available and post an update. For now, the following text may be helpful. Please note, my experience is...

Re: K1 Aero

I've only had a brief shakedown run for the electronics so far. The suspension is set very soft right now and it lifts a rear wheel in every sharp turn due to body roll. But it grips well. Since the rear wheel is lifting, the following roll bar sets may be helpful. U4172 ROLL BAR SET REAR PK 4 - K1...

Re: K1 Aero

Nice to see progress. How does it drive with the higher center of gravity?

Also, have you considered using a body that fits the longer wheelbase (288mm) Traxxas 4-tec 3.0 series?

Re: K1 Aero

Thanks for the info. That gives me some additional options to consider. Are there any body options other than the standard top shell? The two bodyshell options I am aware of are U5116 K1 bodyshell (appears to be the painted shell in your first post) and U5123 K1 Aero bodyshell (pictured on the box ...

Re: K1 Aero

It looks like there should be enough space to package up the chassis with my old tech stuff. PXL_20210511_144045713.jpg I'm thinking about trying to form an undertray from .030" sheet Lexan. If it goes well, I might get inspired to start making undertrays for all of the RC runners my son and I...

CAT 2000 '98 Battery Comparison via ESC Data Logging

While driving a Schumacher CAT 2000 ’98 with more modern equipment (Tekin Redline gen1 8.5 turn motor and RX8 gen2 ESC), there was a noticeable difference in speed when using a LiPo versus a NiMH battery. Though the battery dimensions were similar, the capacity, chemistry and weight were all differe...

Re: RC10T3 Factory Team build

If you run it, the blue aluminum outdrives may be gouged quickly. Do the instructions for the outdrives recommend some form of plastic covered pin (e.g. Schumacher U1918 blades or a thinner MIP puck) as an alternative to the steel driveshaft pin? An example of a gouged outdrive can be found in the t...

Re: Cat 2000 ID

I was able to find the front hub and knuckle in the spares. There is a motor mount but I guess it goes with the 98 so I still need one of those. Still need a belt tensioner as I don't think the 98 used one. I also need the driveshaft. There are 3 spare axles, 2 with the blades but the diffs are dif...

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered

Add another vote for a Pink Panther color scheme. It would already have a supporting theme song.

Thank you for the additional information. Did the durability change with the outer arm mounting?

Based on the story at the following link, maybe things will improve at Tower.
