Re: Duratrax RC10T and LXT Gas Conversion Ad
Very cool, thanks. I don't remember that ad specifically but I did have one of the conversion kits for the LXT. I recall it being pretty nicely designed and it went together well but the chain drive seemed a bit janky to me. I wasn't into nitro at all but I wanted something different to build and so...

Difference between SRB and ORV chassis uprights?
Is there a difference between the metal uprights that come on the SRB chassis cars vs the ones on the Frog/BRAT besides the included steering ballstuds? SRB part numbers 19808262/9808262 https://i.imgur.com/m778pk5.jpeg ORV part numbers 19808036/9808036 https://i.imgur.com/vH6g1gY.jpeg Thanks.

Re: Stealth 2.25 Outdrives
Has anyone bought/used these Fan RC parts and can report on their quality? I've never heard of them before. Thanks.

Nice. Is the old switched speed controller and servo there just for classic looks?

Are the brass inserts necessary?

Tempting, so very tempting...
Is the ball/pin end of an RC10 dogbone/universal/CVD/CVA the same size as a newer 'metric' kit outdrive?

You've got the rear arm mounts on the wrong sides. FYI.

Re: Tamiya metal-shielded bearings
Yeah, I kinda figured they were all 'good enough' Chinese-made units no matter where you got them. And that's fine.
I guess that makes me feel less bad about replacing the metal-shielded bearings in my not-yet-run Sand Viper and Subaru BRAT with some rubber-sealed Fast Eddy bits.

Tamiya metal-shielded bearings
Random question- Exotic materials and specialty bearings aside, are the metal-shielded bearings that Tamiya includes in their kits of any higher/better quality than what you can get from Avid/Acer/Boca/etc? (I realize that 'better' is highly subjective without data) Internal monologue #1: "Tami...

Re: So You're Into RC Cars. WTF Else Do You Do?
Not a whole lot nowadays. While I love muscle cars and sports cars, I own neither. Also love sport bikes and bike racing but also don't own/do either. Computers take up all my time at work and I mess with them at home a bit. PC gaming is fun. Beyond that, handguns have been a new, expensive hobby. I...

Exactly, which makes me wonder why it's there in the first place, or what's different/special about that motor that it has a circuit board attached to the endbell.

Also curious if the ESC needs that big diode soldered onto any motor I might install.

Re: WLToys 144001 at Walmart for $37! (back on sale!)
Since the Tazer Twin I was going to install is out, I'm curious what the stock brushed ESC can handle. If the original motor is a 17t 550, I'm wondering if it could handle a 17t Reedy Radon 540 or something a tad faster, maybe a 15t.
