Re: Traxxas TRX1 Modern Racer build

Small world. Not sure if your whole car was mine but I owned that body for sure 5 years ago or so and lots of your car looks familiar. I got the car from another friend of mine who no longer posts here. He did a few parking lot races with it, I sat it on my shelf and it went to ebay when TRX1's sold...

Re: How many active tracks within an hour?

There is an 1/8th scale track locally but no 1/10th scale for at least 3 hours. 702 Raceway closed at the beginning of July out of the blue so we're kinda stuck. So common. I've often thought the big companies need to pool together on this front. That said, racing is such a small part of the hobby ...

Re: ** 2022 Vintage Off-Road Nationals - R/C Excitement Inc., Fitchburg, MA - Sept. 23-25 **

Got it. I was just confused as the plastic chassis being a factor. Let's play Ultima II (plastic) vs Ultima Pro (Graphite or Aluminum)? Just kidding. I think silver can keeps everyone closer together fairly well more than any other factor (chassis material) outside of driver skill and tires. T...

Re: How many active tracks within an hour?

Also, depending what is going on you might have to bring your high tolerance for a$$hats. Like everything, this place will usually have a couple hanging around. I think I should start another thread, anyone go to track with no a$$hats. Anything special about this track that brings out more than usu...

What about a Junior 2? It's a plastic chassis and was marketed as entry level? So I can run whatever tires and mods on it then just not a JRx2 with graphite chassis? OK I guess?

Re: JRX Pro - does it make sense for vintage races?

Contrary to much popular internet lore, the LRM transmission holds up just fine to the modern brushless. I have run countless laps on high traction carpet with mine. Sometimes I have a slipper, sometimes I do not. Just do not let the differential slip too much. On the modern high bite tracks anyways...

Re: Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

I have used the aluminum front Tamiya ones I posted on a basher before and they held up to a lot of abuse. Whether they are proper or not I don't know but worked. I seem to recall having them on the front of an RC10 too with the metric bearings, they were close enough for what I was doing. I'll have...

Re: Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

Actually would just uses these in front. Could shove the JRX bearings in I bet. Or find the metric bearing that is close to stock axles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/134049083048?hash=item1f35f2aea8:g:VkoAAOSwG8NiKXcq&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8MghQ%2BYUbGiq8h59LmY8PuxBNYLQZNoT2FwFKGPoz95%2F3JkYFiVA3O%2F...

Re: Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

Yeah, we strayed off course. I was looking for a cheap modern 12mm hex type wheel that may have close to JRXT offset. We may have something in these Blackfoot Extreme wheels, combined with the adapters I posted. Also nice these Blackfoot wheels have an 80's look about them and colorful. As to tires,...

Re: Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

Those look promising. Right type of offset and even a period correct look. I'll order a set up and report back after the results. I think those in combination with these we may have a cheap modern option. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293983011964?hash=item4472c0c47c:g:XIcAAOSwThdg7jVp&amdata=enc%3AA...

Re: Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

I'll poke around there. The rears would probably need a quick pass of drill for the SAE axles. Fronts would need a bearing adapter they sell everywhere with the SAE bearings shoved in it with a little trimming. Need them to hold modern tires as well.

Re: Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

Ahh yes, I recall those too. I was hoping there was something made in the last 10 years or relative recent history we could find. None will be exact of course but modern stadium truck wheels or even XX, LXT etc have too much offset.

Yes, A&L, last I checked he had rears only, he'll be along shortly. Looking to keep it a JRXT so truck size.

Positive offset 12mm hex wheels JRXT options?

Curious if others no of high offset wheels for the JRXT. Plenty of adapters to make them hex drive but as we all know offset unique. I am aware of all the options of converting to different hubs and such on these for buggy wheels. None of those address the offset issue. I should probably know this h...

How many active tracks within an hour?

Planning my future retirement home and go figure popular retirement guides talk about weather, taxes, politics, hospitals. Who cares :D What I want to know is how many viable and active tracks are close to you? I am drawing a limit at one hour driving one way but as I get old even that is kind of fa...
