Re: Twin Belt Optima Mid
Wow, very nice mod! I'd definitely get one of these once the kinks are ironed out! :) Would a system like this work on a vintage Turbo Optima as well? Well not directly but should be possible. Problem is i dont have an optima to base my design on.These last few months the main problem is the tooth ...

Re: Twin Belt Optima Mid
Lin, there is no change in CG because the original belt is re used and its position is the same. When i design something i always try to re use as much parts as possible. RCcars4sal, i think top speed will be the same, I really don't think I can feel the difference. Its mostly to make the car more m...

Twin Belt Optima Mid
I have been working on this for the past 7 months and I seem to finally reach a stage where I can really test this new belt drive. Basically I want to replace the gearset in the gearbox with a short belt. These has a few major advantages. 1. No need greasing of gears , thus cutting down maintenance ...

Re: Optima re re gear dif parts fits lazer zx gear diff pull
No..the rere gear pitch for diff internals looks different.in fact the tolerances is much better on rere. The re re internals does fit into mid casings..only on the side opposite to the belt pulley. You cant place the short pin into the mids belt pulley because the distance from the outside of the d...

Optima re re gear dif parts fits lazer zx gear diff pulley
Yes it does..directly. not so for the optima mid. However you must re use your old 3mm middle bevel pin to hold in the 2 small bevel gears. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x87/alcyon2sp/20160905_203551_zpsqzzmw5k9.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x87/alcyon2sp/IMG-20160905-WA0023_zpswad9i0f...

Re: Lazer (choo choo choo sound of cheesy 80s sci fi) Zeee E
In order to use the upgrade c hub and knuckle, is the arm changed at all for length,, or anything else? Im thinking of doing the same to one of my lazers, and possibly optima mids, and would like to know if this conversion will fit stock arms. Seems like thats a great way to maintain a runner, then...

Re: Lazer (choo choo choo sound of cheesy 80s sci fi) Zeee E
WOW, very fast on that big track. My Lazers were always very bouncy too. Your suspension must be strong to survive that big tumble. I would have thought nylon or delrin would snap from that tumble. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x87/alcyon2sp/20160816_224442_zpsmlbh6flv.jpg I am now using a cas...

Update. Ran The Lazer Today. Used the special arm i designed for My Optima Mid which pairs with ZX6 C hubs and knuckles and placed on my lazer with 73mm LA 257 CVDs. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x87/alcyon2sp/vlcsnap-2016-08-21-23h16m47s058_zpsw6ehksz2.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x8...

Re: Kyosho OT16 Knuckles
In your opinion..having a greater angle difference is better right ? I see modern cars like the yz4 have a great difference in angle between left and right wheel on full lock.

Re: Kyosho OT16 Knuckles
Welshy. In the past I was using zx5 c hubs and knuckles and they are just as bad as ot16. The older design has outlived its usefulness . I broke at least 10 zx5 c hubs and a bit lesser knuckles and this seems to happen everytime i go to the track. I have just changed to zx5sp knuckles and hubs and i...
