Re: My Super Champ
if you've got the broken bit, don't use superglue - use a suitable plastic cement that welds it together. Superglue only sits on top/between the 2 parts; welding makes it one. Airfix/Tamiya/Humbrol/Tenex all make model cement. The paint can be stripped off any ABS plastic using caustic oven cleaner,...

Re: My Super Champ
NIB SuperChamp bodysets are off the planet... wonder if they'll ever be re-re'd.... Hornet/Frog wheels & tyres used to be like $60+ a pair until they were re-re'd. Looks like you're missing front bumper? Black re-re items are cheap but beige originals (as a SuperChamp would use; only t...

Re: Electrical battery charging question
Do NOT charge a subC nicad/NiMH pack with any charger made for Lead Acid 6/12v. Yes it will "work" in that it will pump current into any battery... but it won't know when to turn off. Lead Acids have a very different charging profile to Nickel & can tolerate some overcharging; subCs ar...

Re: A possible alternative to servo tape
VHB has its uses but seriously, servo mounting isn't one of them - servos are a mechanical actuator and it needs a solid mechanical mounting = posts+screws If you want your servos stuck on that hard, use ShoeGoo :) it won't flex yes it needs overnight-24hrs to cure properly, but so does a proper VHB...

Slash's 2075 is pretty beefy & quick, definitely not a stock jobbie. And its waterproof too.
Hex screws all round too, which is impressive for an RTR.

Re: Traxxas or HPI Short Course Trucks
... . We want to buy about 6-10 short course trucks and hire them out on a per race basis. ... So in a hire situation which brand of truck is going to take the punishment the best. I've been reading that the Slash has a few weak spots in the hub carriers and with the shocks poping their end caps......

Pete, This may give you some ideas..... http://www.sideways.com.au/ ... this is the indoor venue here in Melbourne, where we had our Vintage Enduro shifted to last November. They run Slashes there... maybe you and Ju should come over for a "business trip" and check it out..... Alex ...

Re: A possible alternative to servo tape
that Command stuff is ok but my motorspray weakens it... wouldn't be using it for servos
if you want strong checkout 3M VHB, or the clear silicone doublesided tape - i'd trust those to hold up mirrors in your bathroom!!

maybe not "fatigue" but UV does make it brittle with age, as does contact with oils & greases etc etc

Re: The frog
simple -- buy the re-re if you wanna build it yourself
stock up on a few pairs of front axle knuckles as the re-re ones have a habit of falling apart.
The old ones didn't; or you can JB Weld them back in too with varying success.

yeah we raced Delta Super-Js and the pinion goes thru bearing in the side plate - well supported and the clutchbell was totally free-floating off the flywheel/clutch, nothing interconnecting made engine swaps very fast... like under 2mins once i think?! Ran Piccos & OPSes back then, with the Del...

Re: Depression/Suicidal Thoughts...
I've suffered severe clinical depression for years and suicide is on my mind, yet again. I've been to shrinks, through cognitive behaviour therapy,anti-depressants and various other "treatments",but it's just getting worse. The insomina has escalated to runs of 3 days without sleep. I don't...
