Re: aussie DIRT & TRACK magazine's

I did see this absolute bargain ad. in Number 26, though.... P1180400.JPG Soooooo happy things have changed! Only $3.75 for a Tamiya 1150..... at that cost, it takes $90 to ballrace a TL01!!!! Ad is 1993, that's about the going rate for BBs. TL01 is much later  1988 was paying $7.9...

Re: Hobby Shops in Paris, France

Meh... closet Francophile here, always had dream that if ever I managed to land my touristy lardass in France I'd wanna go drive thru the capital's roundabouts  in something like a 2CV, Light15 or DS  some might say it's suicidal but hey I've driven in Asia, it can't be anywhere worse, eh...

Re: Hobby Shops in Paris, France

haha good to know! Thought one didn't need a bike licence to ride a moped in France if one already had a car licence? Regardless, I grew up with a bunch of Mobylettes in the shed dating back to 1950/60/70s ... but they're in Asia not France!! Don't think I've ever seen our 50V's speedo go over 30 or...

Re: Preparation for Reproduction of Vintage Decals

That's the easy part I suppose...I do have an old flatbed scanner I can dig out. Do you have any recommendations for someone to takes it to the next step and actually comes out with some good looking decals? (heh! nah won't mention the B&W furball from 10y ago  ) In an ideal wor...

Re: Career Advice

I was watching a DIY show the other day, where there was a guy whose only job was to mix tiny amounts of paint to match granite countertops in order to hide the seams. How is that a viable job and why can't I find something like that in the classifieds?? Mobile pointless dint repair & air...

Re: Preparation for Reproduction of Vintage Decals

Got a flatbed scanner? Do a hires 600-1200dpi colour scan, as straight as you can. In the old daze we'd add in a ruler or 2 for dimensions reference and maybe some spot colour dots; nowadays scanners are pretty accurate first shot. But just in case, scan it one way then turn 90deg and scan that too ...

Re: Best way to punch holes in lexan

Got a link to the Ofna reamer? don't skimp go Hudy if u can find it Jim mine's easily 15yrs if not 20 and it's still going strong, and I use it on a lot more than just lexan jobs. Sometimes I even chuck the tip into th...

Re: what is a good liquid mask brand?

So was it one of those apply and scrape off brands? just about all the rubbery/white/stinky liquid masks become "scrape off" when not applied thick enough. Which is 99% of first time users, they'll never spray 3-8 coats when each coat takes to long to dry. Hobby & art shops sell in ti...
