Re: No 2wd racers? Oh wait!
PS> Agreed on the body color, it is a sharp shade of gray. I'm curious why you used vinyl boat paint, it is more durable/flexible? Or possibly was it just something you had on hand? Take care, ->Mark
I saw someone at the track with a shade of gray on his truck and asked where he go...

Re: No 2wd racers? Oh wait!

So I've been "trying" to run this at our local track, but it pushes really bad when going into a corner. I know it's a 30 year old car, blah blah blah. I do know, it's HAS to run better than it does. What are some setings to make it turn better on a medium track? I've so far, got new tires...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

You ran into the same issue I did when making my mid motor RC10, the body no longer lines up with the shock tower. STILL looks way better than the cab-forward crap.

Re: Optima Re-re 43 mm wheel tyre options on

I ran different tires/wheels for driving the car, and kept the stock ones for display. So you may want to consider a 2.2 wheel just for driving it around.

Re: No 2wd racers? Oh wait!

The Castle combo has been in there a while. Runs great. Can't remember the kv at the moment, but it's likely around 4600 or so.

I'll have to look into the buggy bellcrank setup. It used to be a 10T, hence the truck front end parts.

Re: No 2wd racers? Oh wait!

It's made by SEM, and is a vinyl auto/boat paint. Made for vinyl seats and such. You can find it on Amazon, along with other colors. They make at least 3 kinds of grey. One can will do a mix of like 6 buggy and truck bodies, so don't let the price scare you. This one is called "Ranger Gunmetal ...

No 2wd racers? Oh wait!

So a friend of mine asked me to get a 2wd vehicle so we could race at our local track. I responded that I only have, and drive, 4wd vehicles. A B64D, a Losi Ten SCTE, and a VERY highly modified 4x4 Slash. Then it occurred to me that I DO have a few 2wd vehicles, they're just older. So I've decided t...

Re: Stealth Trans Slipping?

That motor is indeed overkill for the car. It equates to somewhere between an 8.5 and a 7.5T motor. You can crank the slipper down so it doesn't slip. BUT, I'm wondering if it's the diff slipping instead. If you've de-tuned the motor, and it still slips, it could be the diff. Yes new pads would help...

Re: Any Good Radios Out There??

Find a used Airtronics/Sanwa MT-4. You will like it. Has a 20 model memory, and can control servo throw like you want, plus a myriad of other things, like anti-lock-braking. Used ones can be had in great shape for as little as $100.

Re: Any Good Radios Out There??

More than anything in RC, with radios you get what you pay for. Buy cheap, get cheap. Don't waste your money on anything under $100, unless it's a used radio. I have an Airtronics MT4 and a Futaba 3prka, and the MT4 is a way better radio. Both in feel and control. Yes, the nicer radios do control th...

Re: Do you have a preferred/loyal brand RC?

My tendencies have leaned towards Associated and Airtronics (now Sanwa). Been using this combo since the late 80's. I've also owned some other vehicles, but generally stick with Associated. Same with radios, I've owned others, but always fall back to Airtronics. I tend to stay with brand names for e...

Re: Tools!

In the fishing section of Walmart, they sell aluminum pliers. They aren't cheap, but they won't mark up hinge pins, and grip better than the plastic jawed pliers. I have both. Mine were red and black, but same idea. https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/1553b9e8-3b02-488b-85f0-f8260d4a37c5_1.0fd7fabbd63d...
