Re: B6 club racer

Finishing up my B6 build right now. The instructions and bags of stuff are a real pain. Terrible flow to the build and what is in each bag. That said, as it comes together it is quite a machine, but if I was a 1st timer, I would have given up. I had that feeling too... I've built so many cars and f...

Re: Joey's RC10 World's Car Re-Release

I tweaked my endpoints too... but going fast and rubbing that ribbed pipe slightly would just catch the tire and pop cup... those savox servos, yeah very fast and very strong... but kinda loud. lol

Re: Joey's RC10 World's Car Re-Release

At the VONATs I had issues w/ the stock and RPM ballcups popping off ... i used NEW ballstuds and NEW cups... still popped steering links. Maybe cause the servos are so strong now? Anyway, I replaced them w/ captured ends on the steering links... No more problems.

Re: Refurb of well used RC10LS

That is a good looking dye color IMO. Although I thought the plain RIT didn't work, needing the RIT DyeMore synthetic colors instead...

Re: B6 club racer

Also FYI, AE's website had some clearance parts for B5 stuff ... could pick up extra parts cheap now (for possible need later).

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

if it's going to be a runner and you're going brushless you might want to look at converting to the v2 slipper. I'm doing that when I'm rebuild my old stealths into cars that I'll be running.

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

Sometimes the diff spring is stuck down in the out drive and you don't even realize it. The top shaft can get the slightest ding or scuff when the roll pin gets inserted and makes getting the bearing off a tough job. Very high grit sand paper right around the roll pin to help polish up the shaft and...

Re: Pan, Roller, or complete?

Literally the hardest part is probably getting a good condition gold pan tub... nose & motor plates are relatively easy if you know where to look. You can still find new ReRe tubs or re-ano'd original tubs or a very nice original... but the tub is probably the single biggest cost. I've literally...

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

If you crank it down tight the plastic will get brittle with time and crack. Not uncommon, but if the car was not really run... For racing and running you can definitely improve the steering with new bell crank. For restoration, the original style really isn't hard to get. With a bell crank, I still...
