I believe that is a current limiter. I can't prove it but I have seen that before.

Those Traxxas shocks are nice and smooth. Pretty much copies of associated construction.

On ones I don't plan to run, I use green slime and then add just a little oil. This way they are lubricated, but won't drain out all over everything over time.

I regret that i sold my 81 firebird. And that we scrapped so many good g body cars, square body Chevy trucks and a '78 trans am, among others.

If you can make a new body, that's pretty great!!!
For sure if you run it hard enough you will break stuff. If your plan is that, you are probably better off cleaning it up for shelf duty

Yeah the Traxxas white nylon definitely ages poorly, if you plan to restore it and run it it is worth boiling the parts or at least soaking in water for day or so. The gear case/arm mounts is not pure nylon so DO NOT boil that part. It is also quite fragile. The body is super fragile, and as you fou...

If you have a toaster oven you can crank it up as high as it will go and you will get something that works. Just degrease it first

Heat it to glowing orange, and quench in an oil bath until you can handle it. Then the important part is the temper, hopefully you tempered it, taking it between 700-400 degrees F (depending on how hard you want it) for a part that size, about an hour. You want it tough so I would temper at about 50...

At that time wheel offsets were pretty small. So to increase the suspension length you needed to stretch the arm and get the added length wherever you could. That meant putting the inner mount closer inboard.

No that chassis sits naked currently. I will eventually get an Andy pro arrow I think for it.
